I know this is a few years after your post. It is possible that the Joseph Maire in your photos are the same Joseph F. Maire of Loose Creek Missouri. He had 5 daughters, one of which was named Cora. She is the sister of my great grandmother. I have no knowledge of her marriage or to whom she was married to verify the last names. I have other pictures of Joseph Maire though to which I could compare. If you are still around and have interest, let me know and I will send the images I have of him.

We are looking for Rosalie Maire who married a Henry V. Woody, 2/27/1847 in Missouri; on the same date, a Virginia Maire married Oliver Taber. The name Maire is often written 'Maine".

Our great grand fathers arrive form France near 1890. The last name suffer a chance to Macret but Luisa has a daughter (also Luisa) and she had Dora (my mom). Please contact me for more information.

Maire's in Missouri

Looking for any information on the family of Charles E. Maire, Sr. who married Mary Nyail Sewell. They had one son named Charles, Jr. who married a Jeanine.

The Maries lived in Phelps and Osage Counties from what I understand. Mary died in St. Louis County, Missouri.

I have information on several other Maire's in Osage county from a flyer issed by the Osage County Historical Society.

According to my grandmother Charles Maire was a dentist.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Zenita (Haines) Maire/IA

Looking for information on Zenita Maire. She is listed in the 1930 census living w/parents Harry and Alma Haines.
Listed as married, but no mention of husband's name. She was about 28 yrs. old. Census was taken in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Any information on her (parents,husband, any children) would
be greatly appreciated.

Maire/Mair

A family friend passed away several years ago who was a widow and had no surviving family. In her possessions, there was a photo album. Her name was Margaret Henry Raquet Alley. Her parents were Henry & Cora Davis Raquet. Margaret was born 7/22/1913 in Memphis, TN. I don't really know much about her family and most of these pictures do not have a name on them. The majority of them were taken in photo studios in Kansas and Iowa.

Two of the photos that have names are Albert Maire and Joe Maire. One does not have a location but the picture of Albert Maire is from a studio in Fairfield, Iowa.

It is hard to tell when these pictures were taken but I would say in the late 1800's.

If anyone knows anything about these two gentlemen & would like to have these pictures, please contact me and I'll be happy to reunite them with family members!

My gr-grandmother was Therese Maire sister to Rnee. I have to be honest with you, that I have not really done a whole lot of research on the Maires as Corine (Therese' daughter - my grandmother) told me that her grandparents were from France and as I have had my hands full just chasing down those elusive family members here in the US - I have just put it off until now when I am finally getting caught up. Paul Maire's daughter, Frances, lives in Tucson and I speak with her occassionally (she is 86). I am also related to you by way of Joe Crum and his wife, Berniece Davis, she was my great Aunt, her brother was my paternal grandfather. I would love to exchange history with you. Please send me an e-mail at SD74114@aol.com Coincidentally I have been contacted by a woman researching the Fisher family, she believes our Hannah is the same as her Harriett Fisher - I am having problems because none of the dates coincide and there are some odd names. She refers to the family as LeMaire in France and Maire here and says the family is from Aisne France when I was told the family was from Alsace Lorraine.
