It seems to me possible given the 2 year age gap that there just could be a connection. Robert Married an Anne Grimes from Banbury very happy to share what I have if you wish
regards,
Susan Mansfield nee Maisey

Hello Crystaltips,

I came across George Maisey while researching his son, Walter Maisey. Walter was known to my mother as "Grandpa Maisey". As an elderly widower, Walter was a boarder in the house of my great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth WOOD (nee BLAND) and her husband, William WOOD. Walter continued to live with Mary after William died, and was clearly treated as one of the family, even though I have not yet found any record of them having actually married. If you want to explore this line of enquiry, I would be interested to correspond with you. I would also be fascinated to learn a bit about George, although he is not a 'real' ancestor of mine.

Regards, Graham

Hi Andrea

Regarding Charles MAISEY of Bourton on the Water, you should look at
www.comley.org.uk
under Withington Parish, Gloucestershire.

This shows a marriage 1813 between Charles Maisey, bachelor of Bourton on the Water and Mary Comly of this Parish, Spinster on 15 Nov.

Do you know of any sisters of Robert Charles Maisey? For example a Mary Ann?
cheers
Janet

However, the london lines do seem small compared to the other areas of the country.
I will let you know if i ever find anything on your line.

Richard

Hello Richard

I am also researching the Maisey surname. I have a Frederick H Maisey b 1859 in Tottenham but the info I have gleaned is that his parents were William John Maisey b 1824 Cripplegate Tottenham and mother Elizabeth Smart. Just wondered if you had come across these people during your research? I am amazed that I have not found anyone who has crossed my line of Maiseys. I thought it was an unusual name but there appear to be thousands sharing the same name! Any info you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Amanda

I am researching Twyning in general and I have :
John son of William and Mary Maisey bapt. Dec 11th 1796; Elizabeth daughter of William and Mary Maisey bapt. January 19th 1800; Sarah daughter of William and Mary Maisey bapt. june 26th 1803; and a Betsy Maizey (sic) age 15 on 1841 census for Twyning as a servant for Richard Procter.
Hanley Castle was very much associated with Twyning. The MP Sir Anthony Lechmere lived at The Rhydd Hanley Castle and many people who owned land in Twyning lived in Hanley Castle so a movement of workforce between the two would have been natural.

Dear Craig,
I think that I remember something about this ages ago! Of course 'Maisey' is my husbands name, but we did loads of research, surprisingly the name is not that uncommon in the West Country! I am not sure what information you require though!
best wishes,
Danielle

Don't know if it's fully relevant, but I am also researching the Maisey line that originated and lived in Cheltenham, Glouceshire, England.

I have info (partially sourced) on 10+ generations of Richard Maisey (b. 1615) and wife Jane Taylor (b. 1618). My research focus is on the line descending from Albert and Emma (Wicksey) Maisey's 12th child, Victor Maisey, who immigrated to the US in 1921.

You may contact me direct at jadhunt.dan@earthlink.net.

Dan Hunter
Dear Danielle.
This is a long shot. I was surfing through ANCESTORY.COM and saw a reply to an Andrea Kreymborg on the 16th Oct 2002 re Charles Maisey of All of Bourton-on-water Gloucs, and information you had gathered while researching Maiseys in Wiltshire. I have been unable to locate your message again on the notice board.
Would this be you. I'm related to the Maiseys that settled in NZ via Australia. Have tried to contact Andrea without success to this stage.

Craig Cruickshank.

Arthur had a brother Albert (1840) - I am in touch with Joyce Hunter who was married to a Maisey descendant. If your Arthur is the same one - his parents were Richard Maisey an accountant, and Eliza Maisey. I am married to a Maisey descendant, but a different line. There is also Molly in Basingstoke who is descended from this Richard and Eliza line. I can send you stuff, but it may take a while as it is on a computer being repaired at the moment. Most of mine is about Albert's line. Can I pass your E Mail to Joyce and Molly and see what they have? - You can find Mollymac on Genes reunited. Joyce has posted on this site earlier.

My Samuel Paget bapt 1712 married Charity - their first child was named Charity in 1735 after her mother. Simon and Charity were living at Siddington, Glos. Samuel their first son bapt in 1740 married Elizabeth Dickman of Preston, Glos at Kemble by Lic. on 2/11/1767. Unfortunately I do not have a record of any children of this marriage, so cannot say whether they had a daughter Charity. Most of the Pagets I have on file were baptised at Siddington St Peter or St Mary, although later generations were baptised at Brimpsfield or Cowley in Glos.

Re: MAISEY & PAGET Oxfordshire early 1800s

Sorry I can't help further. The only information on Samuel Paget I have is that he had a daughter Charity and the info I was given is that he was known as Samuel of Burford. Charity's husband, James Maisey, was born about 1813 in Fritwell Parish, Handborough, Oxfordshire. Assuming Charity's birth date is around that of her husband's it seems to me Samuel and Richard would have been in Burford around the same time.

If you can track down anything on James MAISEY it might give you a clue where to look.

Hope you find more about them
Mike Monroe
