Here are "my" Manche's. I am descended through one of the femails, so have not traced the male lines to know where they ended up.

JOHN MANCHE (have also seen listed as MANGA); born 1808 in Hessen-Darmstadt; married CATHERINE ELIZABETH LANG (daughter of JOHN LANG), 17 May 1838 at Hancock county IN, died in Sugar Creek township, Hancock county, IN. No naturalization records listed for the state of Indiana.

Children of JOHN MANCHE and CATHERINE ELIZABETH LANG were as follows:
i. ELIZABETH. born 7 Jan 1839 in at Butler county (per Richman), Ohio; married JOHN GEORGE LANTZ, 2 Dec 1855 at Hancock county, IN; died 15 Oct 1919 at Sugar Creek township, Hancock, IN, county at age 80; buried 17 Oct 1919 at New Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine, Hancock county, IN.
ii. CHRISTINA; born 30 May 1841; died 6 Oct 1915 county at age 74.
iii. MARY; born 24 Jul 1843; died 17 Sep 1908 county at age 65.
iv. JOHN JR; born 26 Jan 1845; died 18 Jun 1927 county at age 82.
v. PAUL; born 22 Oct 1846; died 10 Dec 1900 county at age 54.
vi. JOSEPH; born circa 1847; died 24 Jan 1864 county; died of cerebro-spinal meningitis.
vii. CATHERINE; born Dec 1849 in IN; died circa 1864 in Sugar Creek township, Hancock county, IN; spotted fever.
viii. PAULCER (BALSAR?); born circa 1852 in IN.

Manche was my father middle name. I have no idea how this name connects to our family history. Can you tell me a little something about your Manche family? My father was born in Chicago in 1906.
