Hi again. I went to the MANCHESTER Board at www.genforum.com and found the answer to my question - posted 5 years ago ! This is what the researcher said:
The guy who fits the description, who I found on World Family Tree, is Gilbert5(Thomas4, Edward3, Thomas2-1) MANCHESTER, born in Little Compton 25 Aug. 1766, died 8 June 1834. His mother was Dorcas4(Enos3, Christopher2, William1) Gifford, an aunt of the Sylvester Gifford who married another Rhoda MANCHESTER.
Gilbert MANCHESTER married Mary5(Micah4, Samuel3, Nathaniel2-1) Tompkins. The wife of Samuel3 Tompkins, Sarah Coe, was a granddaughter of Elizabeth (Alden) Pabodie (Peabody) of LC, the first white woman born in New England and daughter of John Alden & Priscilla Mullins.
