I was given an old "Birthday Book" by a dear elderly friend back in the early 70's. It got tucked away until I found it today. There are a lot of names but the list of Manor family members is the longest. I am not connected in anyway but it might mean something to someone.

Ernest Sanders Manor 6 July 1879 to 11 Aug 1955. First wife Lydia Pearl Jones 19 March 1882 to 26 Sep 1916. Second Wife Maggie Lee Brumfield. Have copy of tintype photo of Lydia Pearl whose father was Charlie C Jones and Mary Martha Cheatham. Ernest had 9 children by Lydia and three by Maggie.

Ada W. Manor who Married William Winston Shelly? She is my 2nd great grand Aunt. If you have a photo, I would trade any info that I have.

Have question about Giles Marion Sr and Jr. Have a photo purported to be of one or the other. But I have strong doubts. It shows a young man 20-25 in a U.S. Naval dress uniform. Sr. would have been too old. Jr. has no info on enlistment either WWI or WWII. ?????

Many trees list Robert Manor and Mary Odom as his parents. They did not marry until 1822, so that is patently wrong.

Last year I did some research on the Manors, who were originally Canadian, although some settled in St. Lawrence County, NY, just across the river from Ontario. They spent relatively little time in the area before moving on to other places.

Right now I am out of the country and don't expect to return home until October. Most of my material is there. However, if you can tell me a bit more about your Joseph I may be able to determine if he is connected to the Manors I am familiar with and send you what I have about them.

I am seraching for father and mother of Joseph Manor born.abt 1827 in Virginia, moved to Iowa and married Susannah Norris in Iowa and stayed there.

Joseph is on two families Census list but is something other than family but with with same last name, thus tells me that he was cousins or related some how, but not direct.

He list on these census or at least the one we know for sure is him...That he was born about 1827 in Virginia and his father was born in Penn and mother is listed as born in Long Island...this could be Long Island NY or Long Island Ireland or Long Island in the Bahamas or some where else.

We know they are related to the PA Manors but have to find the one that has a father born in NY and Mother in Long Island.

Any information on Fidellia Della Adeline Manor born in MO.,She married Draper Franklin In Otter Creek Iowa, they had two daughters together Maggie and Hulda May, Draper died when Hulda was 1 yr old and Maggie was 3 and had Married second Husband same year William O Hilligoss and He raised the daughters as his own along with the children they had together, Cluade,Lesta,William,Joseph & Jeff.
The two girls even taking William's last name sometimes. They removed to Salina, KS from Mo. and then Ended up in Wichita,Sedgwick County KS She died in 1926 and is buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Wichita.

I decend from the Della and Draper line threw the Daughter Hulda May Franklin, Hilligoss Married name Cole. She was my mothers Grandma.

My name is Jerri Ann Jones. I read your post about Eligah Herman Manor. I have been doing the family tree of my husband. His great grandmother is Melissa Jane Manor. One of my husbands great aunts gave me this information. Melissa Janes brothers were Eligah, called Ligh. Alonzo, Hoza and Corbin T. A Sister was Narcissa. Their ancestors came from Ireland. Rachel Elizabeth (Mom) maiden name was Armond. The Manors were considered to be wealthy farmers. Alonza, Hoza, Corbin were bachelors. Alonzo married late in life to Lighs widow, they had one child, a girl. Most of the Manors live in Webster county Mo. near Seymour. Ligh had three children, Luella (a nurse), Hulta, and Herman. I dont know how factual all of this info is. I have found most so far to be true. My husbands aunt was very old at the time she wrote this info down. Hope this helps!!!

Ruth Ann Manor, age 101, a longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Ruth was born in Burt, Iowa, the daughter of Earnest and Bertha Schwietert.

She had five siblings: Merle, Erwin, Lester, Ada and Williard. All preceded her in death.

She married the true love of her life Paul J. Manor May 21, 1927. Paul also preceded her in death. Early on in her life Ruth was a school teacher. She and her husband Paul also owned and operated the Moses Lake Cab Company for a number of years. She had been actively involved in the Methodist Church and The Moses Lake Woman's Club. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Ruth is survived by her children, Janet Latting and Paul E. Manor; grandchildren, Tammy Strong, Pat Latting, Paul V. Manor. Cally Grieb, Carrie Manor and Troy Lynn Goldberry; great-grandchildren, Heather Cranford, Brady Manor, Tate Manor, BreAnne Galloway, Janelle Galloway, Mathew Grieb, and JC Grieb.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Pastor Floyd Wilks officiating. Interment will follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.

Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday, May 23 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. You may sign the guest book or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com.

Ethel May was the dau of Thomas Young & Maude Gray. Ethel had a sister Eula b abt 1913 who marr Isadore Reynolds 19 Oct 1935 also in Caroline Co.
