Hi! I'm looking for information about my 5th great grandfather, William Mansfield who was born in either North Carolina or Germany and who married Gemima Russell. I am looking to see if anyone has any information regarding whether or not William Mansfield was part or full Native American. I have a statement written by William's granddaughter, Mary Mansfield Price (she was the daughter of William's son, Norman Mansfield). In this statement she says thta her grandfather, William Mansfield, was full blooded indian and "lived like an indian, making baskets and hunting and fishing." This letter was written in 1908 by Mary Price. Has anyone else heard about William Mansfield's Native ancestry? Thanks so much! Brandi
