This sounds like the same people as William's wife was Rosanna Warrilow. The Warrilows are actually my line though so I have more about them.

Using that I was able to back track quite a way so it might offer you some good pointers!

Hi Joe's wife was Rose they had 3 sons Joe, William and Leonard who was a Roman Catholic Priest. They lived in USA or Canada. They did come back from time to time and my father remembers them well.
What information do you have, if they are one and the same persons?

I have in my family a James Mansfield, b. 1838, who married Johanna (often shortened as "Hanna") Fooley (Foley?). Waterford is the name of a city as well as a county. My Mansfields were from the west part of the county.

Hi all! I have a photo of my great grandfather William Lesley Mansfield. The two ladies in the photo are unknown to me. It was taken sometime before 1985, which is when he passed away. My mother believes that she was told they were two of William's sisters, but which ones we do not known.

William Lesley Mansfield was the 14 Sep 1905 In Crockett County, Tennessee to Joe Allen and Maud (nee Griggs)Mansfield. He had 7 siblings:

Merle (Unk-Unk) married Rube Love
Annie Lou (1901–1984) married William Chester Hatch
Marvin 1904 – 1979
James 1909 – Unk
Ola Maie 1912 – 1994 married Osco Hensley
Mosie Mansfield 1919 – Unk

Not sure if this is of any relevance but I have 2 paintings that were painted by his son George Drummond Mansfield. They were of Silverton, Colorado, 81433. Perhaps he lived there for a while.

In your post of 23 May 2006 you said you have the book of descendants of Richard and Gillian Mansfield by H. Mansfield, published in 1885. Might H. Mansfield be Horace Mansfield? He is my gg grandfather from New Haven, CT. His ancestry goes back to Glover then Lt. Nathan Mansfield, then Jonathan M., then

I'm still looking for this info. I have hit a very large brick wall. Most of the records at Danbury town hall for that period were burned during the war in 1776 by the British. Any help will be appreciated.

I have an Anne MANSFIELD who was the sponsor of my grandmother at baptism in Michigamme, MI which is not far from Houghton. This was in 1874.
I do not know much about the connection with the MNASFIELD family. I know it must have been a close one because a cousin of mine (niece of my grandmother) has a middle name of Mansfield.

I am looking to see if anyone has any information regarding whether or not William Mansfield was part or full Native American. I have a statement written by William's granddaughter, Mary Mansfield Price (she was the daughter of William's son, Norman Mansfield). In this statement she says thta her grandfather, William Mansfield, was full blooded indian and "lived like an indian, making baskets and hunting and fishing." Phineas and Malinda are my great grandparents. My grandmother - Lilla Weare m. to Melton Mansfield. I have tons of info on the descendants of John E. Mansfield, b. 1801, and want to find out more where he and others, including Clarissa Beach, my ggrandmother and Phineas Weare originated from. I have that his parents were Ezra and Elizabeth Wier. I have a genealogy research service, and my main interest in this family centers on Andrew M. Nelson, first son of John and Elizabeth (Mansfield) Nelson, born 1809 in Jefferson Co Tenn and died 6 March 1836 in the Battle of the Alamo. The descendant list above is just some preliminary information I've gathered on his family.

Ralph Terry has an interesting letter excerpt on his website regarding Elizabeth Mansfield's father (name unconfirmed). Amanda C. Nelson Little writes to Miss Ada Little on "T. M. Little & Son, Dry Goods and Shoes, Clarendon, Texas," envelope and letterhead, dated 20 March 1913:

"My Mother's Father, Grandfather Mansfield, come from England to America during the Revolutionary War, but I do not know any of the dates. As far as any incidents that happened, I never heard of any in England. I never seen any of my Mother's people, as they all lived in East Tennessee."

The T.M. Little of the letterhead mentioned above is Amanda Nelson Little Taylor's son, Thomas Mansfield Little. On his World War I draft registration card, Thomas described his occupation as "Merchant - gents furnishings."
