Mary, You and I corresponded abt. 30 yrs. ago on the Murrhee line. My gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather was Henry E. Stokes. He married Sarah Harris Murrhee 30 Aug. 1846. She was the daughter of Edw. P. and Mary "Polly" Slade. I'm working on this again after a 30 year hiatus. Isn't the internet wonderful!!

I had a friend (I thought) named Lena Murrhee Gaskins. I now realize she was a relative. Her parents were Leonard Malcolm "Len" and Nola Cleveland Roddenberry. Lena was b. 1904 & d. 1985. She marr. John L. Gaskins. Lena's sisters were Frankie Lou & Ruth. Her bros. were Louie & Thomas.

Do you have any info. abt. them. Are you still doing genealogy? I am writing up a history of the family. If you have any info. past Edw. P. & Mary "Pollie," I would appreciate having it. Thanks so much!! I live on the westside of Jax. Ann Floyd

Did he have a relative named "Lessie" Maree from SC?
According to her tombstone she lived from 1858-1909.
Just curious to know if she was related to the Steele family buried beside her.

Need parents of Annis T Maree, Berkeley Co, SC, married Warren Carson & A.D. Hare 1800s

Question on Annis T Maree (1849-1885) who married Warren Carson (d bef 1880) first and Adam Davis Hare (1825-1895) second in Berkeley County, South Carolina. I was studying A.D. Hare (her second husband), and see in an old book written in 1950 where A.D. Hare and Warren Carson were business partners. Warren Carson died and then A.D. Hare’s wife died, and so Annis and A.D. Hare married each other.

My question is does anyone know who Annis Maree's parents are? I'm pretty sure I know, but need confirmation of a source.

Effie Mae's cousin (Jeff Murrhee)

I met Effie Mae several years ago and was told that she is a first cousin of Jeff Murrhee who died around 1963.His parents were William and Sarah, I think. They were from Jacksonville. I am Edie and am the birth daughter of Jeff Murrhee and Evelyn who were divorced around 1958. I would like to know if you are related and do you have any family photos of Jeff as a young boy or young man. Mother (Evelyn) has no photos and I would like to see some of them. Effie Mae had one or two of Jeff as a young boy. I assume that Jeff would be an uncle to you as he was Effie Mae's cousin. I believe that he was married before Evelyn and would also like to know if there were children from a first marriage. Thanks, EK

Father. I was about 6 yrs. old when he died, but I do remember

Hi! We are related. My Mother is going to write it all out for me to send to you, but I wanted to go ahead and tell you what I know. My GGGF was Jefferson Murrhee (B:?, D: 10Jul1877). He was first married to Sarah Marie "Sally" Geiger. The had eight children including my GGF, Thomas Jefferson Murrhee (B: 1857 D:1933). My GGGF Jefferson Murrhee was married a second time to Mariah Martha Davis (B: 1840 D:?). They had three children: Henry Madison Murrhee (B:1873), Leonard Malcolm Murrhee (B:1875), and Martha "Mattie" Murrhee (B:1877). Mariah Martha Davis was first married to a William Haddock, then to Jefferson Murrhee, and a third time to Samuel Swearingen. My Mother believes it is through Leonard Murrhee (Married a Roddenberry) that we are related. If I have my facts straight, your Thomas Jefferson Murrhee had a sister Frankie Lou (Married a Moody). She was a very sweet woman. I'll post another message once I get more information from my Mother. Take care.

We are related. Our Great Grandfathers were brothers. Your Arch Murrhee and my Thomas Jefferson were brothers. My mother is Effie Mae nee Murrhee. Our Great Great Grandfather was Jefferson Murrhee married to Sarah Marie "Sally" Geiger. I'm still trying to keep all of the names and dates together. This family history is like putting a puzzle together. Piece by piece.

Me besmirch our family name!! NEVER!! I knew how to spell it before I started Kindergarten. I spelt it so fast people still managed to get it wrong.

We had a great Thanksgiving with the family! It's about time that I got to meet more of my cousins. Wish you and Cyndy could have be there.

I check for family history on my Mom's family (Murrhee) and on our Grandfather's. It was nice that someone did all the family research on Grandmother because tracing it back can be pretty hard.

Hopefully I will get to come out and see you all. I wish Dad could make it back out to visit with everyone, but he isn't able to travel.

Tell everyone that their Florida cousin said hello and Happy New Year! Hope that your New Year is great!!

Email with any latest family news so I can keep Dad up to date. He used to keep up with everyone so well.

Howdy! I was looking online to make sure no one was besmirching the fine Schlemlein name and came upon your post.

Sound like my mom and dad, and Garth's en total family had a marvelous time visiting uncle Albert, Aunt Effie and the whole gang. Wish I and my wife Cyndy could have made the scene. Note that if you should be up in our neck of the woods in Washington (Snohomish) we'd love to have you stay w/us.

Here's to a great New Year for you and everyone down there, and our prayers are with all you wishing for health and peace for Uncle Albert.

I believe I'm related. My GF was Otto Murrhee, married to Kathleen Pigue, GGF was Arch Murrhee, married to Minnie Harris, GGGF Thomas Jefferson Murrhee. I had seen a last will and testimony which stated that Jefferson was married 3 times. I'm not sure but I believe it was a Geiger.
