I am looking for a John Mariano who lived in Troy NY off of Hoosick St. in the early 80's. He worked at Bella Napoli Bakery on River St. Possibly had a brother Joseph. I know of two young women that want to have contact with him. If anyone has any information that would help in locating him it would be greatly appreciated.

Please feel free the look up the Henry Family Tree under my name Jana Henry for the info I have. If you have any further information to share that would be greatly appreciated also. Looks like we may be long lost relatives. PS: Happy New Year!

I might be able to help you. Right now, my Mariano family has most of our ties in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, but our family came over from Italy and settled in Philadelphia. My grandfather's name was Joseph Thomas Mariano, son of Paul (originally listed as Paolo) Mariano and Philomena/Filomena Ferrara. I was able to find records that my great-grandfather Paul came over with his brother, Rocco, from Italy and they stayed with the Ferrara family. My great-grandparents, Paul and Philomena, must have had an arranged marriage. My family has many situations where we are named after a relative (my grandfather's middle name is Thomas for my great-grandmother, Rose's, brother), so it's quite possible that we could have some connection! Please contact me if you would like to talk some more!

Some of the family us the I and others the O. The name of our town of origin is Torre dei Passeri. Do you know if you have any family that went to Quincy, MA
Ellen

Have researched and found my grandfather Walter Garcia Lorente from New Bedford Mass. Newspaper article from 1942 obituary states he graduated from New Bedford High School. His mother ( my great-grandmother) was Philomena F. Mariano (Marianno?) from the Azores Islands, or Portugal.I believe my grandfather Walter G. was born in New Bedford in 1909.

My search for Mariano (Marianno?), family sounds similar to yours. My search has shown that my grandfather, Walter Garcia Lorente was from New Bedford, Mass. His mother was Philomena F. Mariano. I have heard she was from either the Azores Islands off of Portugal, or from Portugal itself. There may be a connection, the search has been difficult because of many spelling changes of names being researched. I hope to hear from you.

I tried sending this message once before but did not get a confirmation that it went through so I'm sending it again.
I'm researching my family history. I am a Marianno. I went through the GA 1900,1910 and 1920 census. A Vera Mariano was listed in the 1910 census as 8 years old, daughter of Antonio and Mattie Mariano (one "n") of Eastman, GA. (She is also listed in the 1920 census) I hope she's the one for whom you are looking. The family is listed as mulatto and if its the family I think it is, they are of Portugese descent. Please let me know if this is of any help to you.

We are fortunate as we are loking at a name that was all that common in Brooklyn nd Manhatten from 1876- 1910.
Look at the Census and there are maybe 10...... so chances are pretty good if we compare names, dates we can get somewhere.
All i know now is that My Great grandmother was Julia Mariano b. about 1860...perhaps in NYC... she hd a operatic voice...here father played a music instrument.
she married William McQuire, lived on Sands st, and Pearl St in brooklyn. She died about 1895. She is buried in Holy Cross Cem in Brooklyn.
Her father could be Louie, Marcello... could have lived on Mrytle Ave B'klyn, and Mott St. Manhatten.
