I do no have anything at this time. I just started lookin last month. We came across a box of old photos and everyone wanted to know who they are. This is the extend of my info at this time

Guy Harold Marinello Mar. 29, 1925 - Mar. 25, 2009 JEWETT CITY, CT

Guy Harold Marinello 83, 0f Mathewson St. Jewett City died Wednesday at the W.W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born Mar. 29, 1925 in Jewett City son of the late Gaetano and Elizabeth (Cataldo) Marinello. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church, Jewett City. He graduated from Griswold High School in 1943. Guy entered the Army in July of 1943. His basic training took place at Ft. McClellan, Al.. He then was transferred to the Army Air Force in 1944 where he went to Radio School at Sioux Falls, SD. After that he went to Ariel Gunnery School in Yuma, Az., He took flight training at Avon Park in Florida. In Jan. of 1945 guy went to England and became a member of the 487 bomb group and 836 bomb squad. His plane was shot down over Berlin, Germany and he became a prisoner of war on April 10, 1945. At the end of the war he was released and returned to the US and was stationed at Mitchell AFB until he was discharged. From 1946 to 1950 he worked at Aspinook Textile. Then from 1950 to 1951 he was recalled to duty with the rank of T/SGT. Guy was an inspector at the US Naval Submarine Base in Groton, from 1952 to 1981 retiring after 29 years of service. While in the service he received the Air Medal, Purple Heart, POW Medal, Good Conduct, European Theatre, Korean and Reserve War Medal Organization as a member American XPOW, 8th AF. He was awarded the Purple Heart for the 487th bomb group. He leaves behind his previous wife Sylvia Marinello and their sons Guy Marinello Jr. and his wife Liza of Provincetown, Ma. Michael Marinello, his granddaughter Morgan, great grandson Lucas J. Marinello Braggs, numerous nieces and nephews and brother in law Frank Rubino. He was predeceased by his brothers Antonio, Albert, Frederick, Joseph And sisters Angelina Shutt, Helen Schena, Rose Rubino and his companion of 20 years Rita Gaudette. PM.
