Completion of Two Marr Family Books.
Some of you may be related to this family line, if so I would not want to leave you out, some of us just cant connect for several reasons. Some family lines start in Maine, some in PA, VA, and SC some how we have to be kin some where, I have not been able to connect my family line from maine with those in PA etc, perhaps some of you have the answer copying an email to family on my side to that all can see the scope of this endeavor. Tks so much.
Hello Everyone: Want to wish each and everyone in your extended family a Happy Easter Holiday Weekend. This will be a LAST CALL for any family information for our Marr Family Book. If you have any new additions of birth, death, marriages, divorce, or even someone left out, now is the time to get this information to me.
I would suggest that you email me the information, if you are not sure of any errors I will send you a file of your particular family to correct any errors etc. I have made the decision after some consultation with a very dear friend who has helped in so many ways with this project to publish two books. One will be called "The Family of Isaac Marr & Susan Pierce" the second book will be "The Descendants of John Erskin Marr & Katherine Surplus". Years ago a gentlemen in PA started a Marr book called "The Descendants of John Erskin DeMar" his name was Jim Jameson. Jim has since passed away several years ago, and his wife is very much with us. Jim worked for many years on his project and without his work the process of searching past relatives would have taken longer. Jim's book starts with John Erskin DeMar in Maine his six children and has broken down many of the descendants from those six children, of which some family lines stopped due to a number of reasons.
The first book which will be: "The Family of Isaac Marr & Susan Pierce" takes the place of where Jim left off on this family line. Isaac Marr is the father of John and Joseph Marr who left Maine and came to southeast GA and in turn started the south GA, and Florida Marr lines. All the information in this book is not in Jim's book, many of our relatives outside of this line have been memorized by the volume and number of people related. The second book "The Descendants of John Erskin DeMar & Katherine Surplus" will be basically a continuation of Jim's work and will be so noted in the acknowledgments and dedication.
Decided to split the books for the following reasons: the whole book is very large, without pictures if will be approx 1,400 pages. The books will have table of contents etc and an index of individuals some of us may not want the whole family, others might. The Isaac Marr book is comprised of the GA, and Florida family lines and will have more meaning and purpose for this group. I have been using Family Tree Version 11 for awhile and have purchased Version 13 last night for some upgrades, of which I hope that version 13 will allow the pictures of individuals to print with the family group sheets. If this doesn't work I more then likely will add pages to the book as inserts to accomplish the goal. We all like to look a pictures in a book don't we.
Anyway thank you all so much for your time and patience the last four years, if you want to confirm any changes as discussed earlier please get in touch with me. All I really have left to do is write the Dedication, Introduction, Preface, and to finish the story of John and Joseph Marr. I'm going to post this message on Genealogy.com as well. Then I will need to find a publisher who can print this book in hardback, or soft back, and the size of the book to fit a reasonable budget. Once I have that completed I will send out post cards with the cost of the book. I look forward to hearing from all of you, make some phone calls to those who don't have computer access.
