My father's grandfather's name was Bartolome Mas Mieras. He was born in Mallorca. Around 1849 or 1850 he moved to Santiago de Cuba and married Ursula Armiñan Miyares. Children were: Fernando Mas Armiñan, Ursula Mas Armiñan, Juana Maria Mas Armiñan and Rafael Mas Armiñan.
During IXX century a lot families from Mayorca went to Cuba, Puerto Rico and Argentina.
Most of the Mases that went from Balear Islands to other regions of the world could be relatives.

Same here mom and dad from cuba, however i think my dad has his roots in spain. looked up mas last name in a spaniard directory and it seems every small town has many last names with mas.

I have been for a long time trying to find the lineage of my father's family from Zamboanga City, Philippines. He was born ANTONIO SAAVEDRA MAS - his father was Marciano Aguilar Mas and his mother's maiden name was ALICIA SAAVEDRA. I know that the MAS surname is very rare in the Philippines - only know that my grandfather, Marciano had only one sister, EMILIA. I don't know my greatgrandfather's origin - in as much as they died when my father was still very young, hence - our search for this family tree. His ancestry must have come from Spain.... hope we can get connected with someone, somewhere so we can trace our ROOTS. Thank you so much.

I'm looking for any family connection to Pedro Mas y Cabrera born 1865 est. married to Carmen Lastenia Cabrera de Mas. Pedro Mas was born in Spain and both parents, names unknown were born in Spain as noted on 1910 Census for Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He first lived in Toa Alta then moved to Calle Comerio, Bayamon, PR. Pedro may have relatives in Mayaguez via parents, such as uncles but names are unknown.

There is a Luz Estella Mas Babilonia in the 1920 census of New York. Of course you have to keep in mind how Spanish surnames are written, paternal surname first and maternal surname second. However, such being the case with my Grandfather, families began to switch this oder around upon coming to America for conformity sake.

I am searching for information on the Mas family in Puerto Rico. What little information I have is the name - Luz Estella Babylonia Mas. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She had many brothers and sisters - family history says there were 16. The family was originally from Spain. She married a man from Pennsylvania named Raymond Isaac Long. Hi! My mother's last name was Mas. Isabel Mas from Mayaguez Puerto Rico. Her father was Francisco "Pancho" Mas and her mother was Agapita "Pita" (Rodriguez?). As far as I know, Francisco Mas emigrated from Spain when he was around 5 years old. Let me know if this helps!

My grandmother who died in New YOrk in 1932 was names Trinidad Mas,thats all the information I have on her..She married Saturnini Arana and had 2 children.Jennie GLadys ( my mother ) and Alberto...Sound familiar? I dont know if she had siblings..

Hi, I believe my gggrandmother was Yantien Mas (probably born ca. 1820-30's). Her dau was hendrika Steefeelaar b. Jan 1868. Hendrika and her husband, John Petter emigrated from Holland in 1908. I wondered if Mas was surname from France or Belguim possibly.

Hi! My name´s Lorna and I´m from Argentina (Santa Fe). My father´s name is Ricardo Osvaldo José Más, son of Gabriel Más and Emilia Rosalía Comas. My father´s grandfather´s name was Gabriel too and he was born in Manacor (Mallorca), he and his parents (Gabriel Más and Simona Fons) came to Argentina (City Santa Fe) in 1895.
Here in Santa Fe there was a great inmigration wave from the Balear Islands.

As I understand, the "Mas" surname comes from Palma de Mallorca, Spain. I have an aunt, Margarita Mas, who visited them in Palma, and according to what she says the family lives in a villa there. Some of the Mas brothers migrated to Puerto Rico and some to Cuba. My grandfather, Jaime Mas, was one of them. Hope this helps!
