Sorry to say but my great-grandmother's last name was Matamoros and there was a whole mess of them living in Parral and I can trace my side of the Matamoros family living in Parral since the 1700's. There is more than one lineage of Matamoros in Mexico and your family isn't the only one.

I am a Matamoros and my great great great grandfather was Mariano Matamoros the lieutenant general for the Mexican revolution but he was from mexico city and then later moved to Matamoros for the war and then moved back and had my great great grandfather soon after he had great great grandfather he was executed in 1814 in Mexico city and his resting site is in mexico city and all of my dads side of the family is a decendent of Mariano Matamoros even though you have some ancestors with the same last name doesn't mean we are related,so what I am trying to say is that the Matamoros family never lived in parral, Chihuahua, mexico sorry. :)<br>

Hi Mayra I was just going through my family history and I saw this post and first of all I am a Matamoros and my great great great grandfather was Mariano Matamoros. We might have the same last name but doesn't mean we are related. All of my dads side of the family lives in mexico and I have seen pictures Mariano Matamoros with my great great grandfather marianos son which later had my great grandfather and four other kids which inhareted all of marianos money and land, my great grandfather had my grandma and so on but what I am trying to say is that you are not related to him and I know that for a fact because you said that you were the first generation in the U.S but the Matamoros family came to the states 15 years ago and no one else from my family was ever in the Iraq war so sorry to say but you are not related to Mariano Matamoros.
