Danilo Mateo - Mateo family??

I am a Mateo who is trying to fins information on my fathers side of my family. My dad is Danilo Mateo and is from the Dominican Republic- I think San Pedro de Macoris. My mom is from the Dominican Republic also, her maiden name is Mota. I think Danilo's dad was a firefighter or the chief of a fire station. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am a Mateo (Jonathan) , I used to live in Orocovis, Puerto from 2004-2006. I went to school at Segunda Unidad Bonifacio Alvarado (SUBA). My birth parents are from Dominican Republic (i think San Perdo de Macoris). Our house is near the Villalba-Orocovis Miradero. I am curious to find out about my Mateos in general to see if I run into anyone on my fathers side of the familty. Take care.

I was told by my grandmother Juana Rosario that her husband Vicente Mateo was from Coamo. Who knows? Maybe we are related.

My great grand mother is Maria Mateo and she lived in Santa Isabel that until 1842 was part of Coamo.

nogales, az in the year of 1939.
jose and cipriana were married in arizona, then had
two children named, francisco and maria del carmen.

I know it's been aging since the posting but a current email to me has sparked curiosity and the desire to continue looking. I was born in Puerto Rico, Salinas to be exact I grew up in Aguirre and now live in CT. I am a David but my grandfather was Antonio David Mateo. My aunts in PR always spoke of their family that was Mateo and from time to time we ran into some and I witnessed conversations I don't know much about that side of the family except that they were intelligent most were doctors and lawyers. CARLOS E. MATEO Age 81 of Coamo, Puerto Rico, formerly of Miller and a longtime Gary resident, passed away on December 25, 2004. He was a retired employee of U.S. Steel, Gary Works, after 25 years of service. He was a former member of St. Luke Church in Gary, Delta Phi Delta Fraternity in Puerto Rico and a former member of the Puerto Rican Society. Carlos was preceded in death by his wife, Olga Mateo in 1992. He is survived by 2 sons, Carlos (Liz) Mateo of Miller and Michael (Paula) Mateo of Cincinnati, OH; 3 grandchildren, Cassandra, Melissa and Mariah Mateo. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St. Hobart, IN. Rev. Thomas Mischler oficiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., the time of service.

Well, my grandfather, died in Santiago de Cuba, around the 50, may be we are related, I don´t have any other information, he had 3 daughters and one son His name was Juan Mateo, please if you have more information, let me know.

My grandfather was Rosali Miranda Mateo born in Ponce PR, who later emigrated with his father to Santiago, Cuba - Francisco Miranda Correa(?) who had originally emigrated from Spain. My father says my grandfather had been a bodyguard for an important government official and had to leave in exile after changes in politics. Are we related?

Hi, my grandfather was Juan Mateo, from Puerto Rico, he emigrated to Santiago de Cuba, at the end of XIX Century. I know he has at least one son in Puerto Rico, before he traveled to Cuba.

I don't know if we are relatives. My grandfather was Pedro Mateo but my grandmother was Juana and both of them died long time ago. Yesterday afternoon all my family were in the cementery because my Aunt Ana Mateo died of heart attack last Thursday.She had some other health problems but nobody thougth that she was going to died beacuse of hearth attack. My father doesn't feel well. It is a big impression for him. All his life he was helping her and her two youngest nieces: Lizbeth and Claribel. I spoke with both of them and thanks God titi Ana saw her last two grandsons. Nicole, I am sorry about the manner that we know each other but thanks God you want to know about us. Hi! I am not very happy today. Yesterday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock my father and my relatives family went to the cementery in Coamao to say by for last time to my favorite aunt. Tía Ana wasn't felt well, she had some health problems but four days ago, acording with my father she had a heart attack. She was so good to me and to my family. My father has 69 years old and I thing she was 66 or 67 years old. All my family and her children are in Puerto Rico at today. I called last night (saturday) and every body, including my father they can not sleep well. Nobody belives that she died. She was looking good for her age. She was the baby sitter for one of her favorite grandson. Well "prima" I'will keep in touch with you. I'm sorry about this news. May be you are my cousin any way. All my father families are from Coamo.

(I will traveling to Puerto Rico on August 8, 2000, if you need something let me know before I leave US. I'll be back on the 18th of that month. I'm sorry about my English I know I is not good enougn but I am still learning. By!)

Or at least what I've heard is that the Mateos
in my family are from there. Anyway, his name
