Looking over the chart I've made so far, and checking further on some dates, I think I may have one thing wrong. I was thinking that Maria Teresa Cella was a generation farther back than she was, maybe. I thought she was married to your great-great-grandfather, Peter Antonio Sbarbaro, who emigrated from Genoa, but the Orleans Parish marriage records show her marrying Antonino (which in Italian is just a diminutive of Antonio - like saying "little Anthony") Sbarbaro in 1881. So maybe Antonino was your great-grandfather Peter's brother, and maybe he and Maria Teresa then moved to Chicago? I read that the Sbarbaro Funeral Parlor has been in existence in Chicago since 1885, so the dates would make this a possibility. If I ever get this chart filled in a bit more, I could always mail you a copy.

One thing I meant to ask you - I don't know the name of your grandpa Tony's wife - I think you said it was Cecelia, but I don't have the last name.

Also, do I have this right, that Caroline Maynes (?) (which I had read as Mayans) was the one who was called Rita, and she was married to your great-grandfather Peter?

I'll keep digging now and then when I have the time!

Connie
Looking over the chart I've made so far, and checking further on some dates, I think I may have one thing wrong.
Hi Peter, got your email but for some reason was unable to go thru, had to go another route thats why I'm going thru this board. I've been visiting web as a guest, thanks to Katrina most photos and research wiped out. I do have George and Sarah (Cecilia) Mayans death certificate copies, obituary of Cecilia Carey Maynes stating she's mother of Mrs Peter Sbarbaro and Mrs Joseph Planas (and others).Josephine was my great grandmother, daughter of Sarah & George, her son George Planas was my grandfather, his daughter Cecilia was my mother.Obit states her funeral was held at son -in-law Peter's home on Louisa St and buried at St Louis #3. My mom's buried in the vault next to her. I'd like to share more info with you. If you're able send your email address to mine. I have a picture of Cecilia (Sarah) Mayans when she was in her 80's, also my grandpa George told me she had stowed away on a ship with her brothers coming to America from Ireland, George Mayans was from Spain, possibly Barcelona as stated in 1870 census.
