Does any one have any information on Daniel and Catherine. Believe Daniel comes from Loughgall and they married in Armagh. Immigrated to Sth Africa in 1860 and then on to New Zealand 1864. Thanks.

Re: Arthur McAnneny

Hi! I have only sketchy info about my gggrandfather, Arthur McAnneny, father of Isabelle McAnneny Jackson, brother of Michael McAnneny. His wife, also Isabelle came over with the two brothers on the boat from Ireland, landed in New Orleans. They did not marry until sometime in this country. Arthur (according to my grandmother - his granddaughter) fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. Michael fought for the Union. Arthur later lived in New York City (and presumably is buried there - I haven't found him yet) because my ggrandmother (Isabelle McAnneny Jackson) was born there in 1868. I have found a record in the 1930 census of an Arthur McAnneny, born in New York but living in Hoboken, NJ. Don't know yet if there is a connection but at least the name is the same and may be a thread to follow backward. If you have any info which may be the same people, please contact me further at Favoino9@aol.com. I'd love to follow up on this. What started as simple curiosity on my part has become obcession! I'm determined to find out if GGGrandfather Arthur actually fought for the South while his brother fought for the North and try to learn what I can of their units. Thanks for replying to me even if we don't share ancestors and if we do... Hi cousin!!!!

Arthur McAnaneny (McAnneny/ Mcannany?)

Arthur Brother Michael arrived in US from Ireland through New Orleans, mid 1800's - both brothers fought during Civil War - Arthur for South, Michael for North. Arthur is my Great, Great Grandfather. His Daughter, Isabelle was my grandmother's mother - she married William George Jackson who was born in Ontario Canada. Looking for information Re: Arthur and Michael
