Hello--

I'm wondering if this Ira McBride was my grandfather. My mother, Judith Mary McBride, was the daughter of an Ira McBride. He died when she was fairly young, and she was born in 1941. She lived in Silverton, OR when she was young. Unfortunately, she's now gone and I do not have a lot of info on this part of my family. I'd love to get more information on this branch of my family. Thanks!

Best--
Kristin

Jon Mac Bride was expelled from Britain (he was a rebel) in 1697, and landed in Eastern New Jersey around 1700. I am looking for his descendents (if any) in America.
BTW most of my relatives came from Delaware. Any info would be a big help. I have located McBrides from 1800 0n, but lack proof for McBrides from 1700- 1800 in Delaware.

Marie, great to hear from you.

The aboriginal connection (if there is one) is not directly to do with the McBride side, but rather relates back to WHMcB first wife Lucy Bradley. Lucy's brother John was supposedly illegitimate and born to a person named Jenny Tianit who was supposedly a native girl. I am not so sure about that but I have not been able to confirm it one way or another. Lucy's mother was Jane Tierney and it could just be a miss reading of her name on the birth certificate. Anyway, as it turns our I have requested a hard copy of both Lucy and John's birth certificate and when I get them I will make a comparison of the mothers names.

I have assembled a pretty comprehensive family tree on the McBride's, but since your father moved from Albany there has been no information on your branch. I would dearly love to get an update on your father and his family so that it can be added into the FT.

I would also like to give you access to the FT, there are quite a few photos and I am adding stories about the family as I get time. e.g. One of the original McBride family huts from c1890 is now housed at the Albany Whaling Museum and we have photos of that hut on the FT. There are also photos of most of the family members from WHMcB through to my line of the family.

I would be interested in any other even vague pieces of information that he may have passed on to you. The real puzzling and difficult connection that I cannot as yet make, is WHMcB's family in the USA, he was born in the USA. So any snippits correct or not would be welcome.

My email address is smcbride@amnet.net.au if you want to directly send my any information/ photos etc. If you provide me with your email address I can give you access to everyone in the family tree including those that are still living. I have not made the FT a public tree as yet, because I have been getting family members to look at it first to make sure there are no obvious errors or bloopers that they do not want to be included. Once the tree is made public anyone will be able to see the information, but they cannot see or even search for people that are still alive, although family members that I have given specific access via their email address will continue to see everything.

Looking forward to further communications, regards Shane.

Hi Shane,
Thank you for your response. I would love to talk to you further about the family connection that we have (my earlier post was under the name of wrigme).
I have a question regarding our ancestry...do we have Aboriginal ancestors? My father always said that this was the case but he lacked clarity at times.
Looking forward to hearing more from you,
Regards
Marie Wright

Martha A. Melvina McBride

I am a great grandaughter of Willard Walker Percifield. My grandfather was Vivian Clayburn(Cleburn)Percifield. Willard married Martha Melvina McBride Jan 4, 1901. The had four sons. Blev, Vivian, George, and Thomas. The story has been told by my father, Vivian's son, that his father had told him that his mother was one half indian. I am having difficulty finding out if this is accurate. We have many traits that are associated with indian heritage(high cheek bones, little facial hair growth, skin color)but can find no information. I do know that Martha's parents were Thomas J. McBride and Elizabeth E. Patterson. The story told was that Willard was in Indiana and had a family, killed his brother in law, fled Indiana to Missouri remarried and produced sons. I would love any information available. Cherokee indian is what we have been told is our heritage. Any information would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
