I dont think I have a James McCafferty in my tree - my ancestors were born in Cambuslang, Glasgow - Thomas McCafferty 1870 with children Mary, Anne, Hugh, Thomas, Matthew, Agnes, Kathleen and Arthur. His father was Hugh1834 born in Ireland.

I hope we have the same "James." I've just started doing the research for a friend of mine and his grandfather was James, married to Elizabeth (unknown last name). James' parents were Bernard and Grace McCafferty. James' son was Francis.

My friend's name is Francis McCafferty. His father was also Francis McCafferty, born 1925 in OH. His parents were James (born ca 1899) and Elizabeth (last name unknown) born ca 1902.

My father was called Francis McCafferty.He had a brother called Alex, and Sister called Elizabeth. He was born in 1923 in,Edinburgh,Scotland. I think this must be a different branch of the Mccafferty's to your friends.

In this family, Francis McCafferty (b. 1925) had a brother named Bernard (1922) and James (1923). They were all born in Michigan or Ohio. Like you said, must be a different branch. Thanks for you assistance anyway.
