Hello,

I am looking for any and all information about McClellands in Audubon, Iowa, from 1850-1900.

The specific person I am researching:

Otto Wesley McClelland
b. 5 Apr 1878 Audubon, Audubon, Iowa
d. 27 May 1959 Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California

I have no information on his parents, or any family at all. I know there were a fair amount of McClellands in IA in the late 1800s, I just can't make a connection - any info, family histories, etc. are appreciated. Thanks!

died suddenly on October 18, 2009.
Robert was the treasured Brother of Deborah McClelland, Hayward, Calif., and Brian McClelland, Erie, Pa.
He was Uncle to Amy, Andy and David Farsheed,
had numerous cousins,
family and friends all over the world.
Bob loved hunting, whitewater rafting, skin and skydiving. He gardened and loved the outdoors,
Bob had a true adventuring spirit
and he extensively worked and traveled all over the globe. Everywhere he went, he impressed people with his brilliant intelligence, humanitarian efforts,
and unmatched sense of humor.
Born and reared in North East,Erie,county, Pa.,
He graduated from North East High School in 1976 as a Merit Scholarship Finalist.
He graduated from Cornell University in 1980 with a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering, attended UC Berkeley for graduate studies 1980-1982.
Bob received his M.S.
in Material Science from Cornell in 1987
and his Ph D in Material Science and Engineering from Cornell University in 1990.
He received numerous awards and was an inventor and author of several patents and public publications on optical film metrology,
semiconductor surface modification processes,
and diamond coatings on titanium.
A memorial service was held at Lone Tree Cemetery in Hayward, Calif.,
on October 29, 2009.
A local service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake St., North East, Pa.

I am trying to find info on the descendants of Charles "Elbert" McClelland, b. 1878, d. 1919, Clinton Co., IN; m. 1904, Lydia Margaret Wright, b. 1875, d. 1933, Clinton Co., IN. They had three daughters, Grace P., Stella L., and Mildred C. McClelland. Charles was the son of John Newton McClelland and Elizabeth Cue. Lydia was the daughter of Alexander Wright and Maranda LeMasters.

Marriage of Cora Lucinda McClelland d/o Robert T. McClelland and Mary Ryan to Oscar Jacobson.
Also her date and place of death pre 1961 as her mother's obituary say she was pre-deceased by her.

I am also looking for the date of death of Estella (McClelland) Arnold and Norman Earle Arnold. They were married in 1924 in Nova Scotia, and her mother's obituary says she died pre- 1961.

Searching for information on gun owned by Daniel Boone that was left with John Heck McClelland of Springfield, Rockbridge County, Virginia. John was a descendent of Daniel David Heck. The story according to Rockbridge Co. Heritage Book is that Daniel Boone had left his gun to be repaired at a local gun shop and carried a musket in its place. Said musket was in the possession of John McClelland. Does anyone know the whereabouts of said weapon? John passed away around 1953. I am looking for any information on Elio McClelland and his family. His wife was Jessie McGilbert.

Elio and Jessie had at leat four children: Alexander, John, Daniel and Sarah.

I am a descendent of Sarah J. McClelland who who married Edward Tiffany of Oswego, NY. in 1876. They had 5 children.
Sarah died in 1907 at the age of 57.

I have found references to her brother John, who died when he was struck by a train in Oswego, NY in February 1903. Their brothers Alexander and Daniel were said to have lived in Buffalo, NY at the time.

Sarah (McClelland) Tiffany's death certificate simply states that she was born in Canada, as were her parents.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

I'm trying to find information on this family.

Joseph was born in PA the year of 1830. His father was from Scotland and his mother was born in PA. His wife, Mary Jane, was born in 1840 PA.

Of seven children, four survived. One of their sons, Alvah C. was born in 1874 and died sometime after 1930. He had two wives, his first being Emma who was born in 1884.

If anyone has any information on this line who would be willing to share it, I would greatly appreciate it. I really need Alvah's death information as well as Emma's and would love to know Jospeh's fathers name.

I'm looking for information about Robert McClelland who died 27 March 1823 in Leyland in Lancashire, England aged about 37 years. He was married to Ann who died in 1851 but I'd like to know where he and his wife were born and where they married and any other details about their parents. I've searched and searched but have got nowhere. There doesn't seem to be any trace of them before the records of their children's births in and around Chorley and Leyland in Lancashire.

Any information about them would be very welcome indeed as they are my direct ancestors.

My Dad, Chester Thomas McClelland was born in Rhode Island. There were 7 siblings, but none named Alfred. His Dad was Andrew, and Andrew's Dad was John I believe. If I hear of any Alfred's I will write. Good Luck to you.

son/o Andrew Jackson & Sarah (BONNELL) Clark, marriage Jul 13, 1920, Cambridge, Guernsey Co, Ohio.
I called her aunt Mary, and Homer, nickname was Shadow, because he was a thin man, but also a Great Painter in his time. They were like My Grandparents, and we stayed with them every time we returned to area fr Cleveland, so always was very close to them and their children.

I am the daughter of a McClelland who was born in Armadale Victoria 1909. His Father John Henderson McClelland and Uncle Samuel McClelland.They settled around the Bendigo area and were bootmakers both in Armadale and Bendigo.
John Henderson and Samuel were born in England and came to Australia at about the same time .John H also came to Australia after fighting in the Boar War

I am looking for information about George McClelland who left Ireland in the late 1700's - early 1800's, perhaps 1817. George married Sarah Ann George in Rockbridge County, VA, USA, on Oct 4 1824. They had several children including Sarah S b 2/11/1831, Alfred b 1839, George b 1836, William A b 1835, etc. Any information would be appreciated. Especially looking for info on his birth (date/location), parents' names, arrival in US. He is sneaky though, haven't been able to find him in any US Federal Census records.

From what branch of the McClelland family do you descend?

George McClelland (ca 1822 - ca 1858) was likely born in Columbia Twp., Bradford Co., Pennsylvania.

George and Lavina WILCOX McClelland removed to nearby Canton Twp., Bradford Co., Pennsylvania before the 1850 census. After George's death, widow Lavina remarried.

McClelland married Rosa McGuiness and daughter Margaret was my gg grandmother.Margaret married James Harvey Drake 11/12/1865 in Clarke Co. Georgia. Their children were Willie, Lonnie, janie,Cora,Lula and Annie Ardella who was my ggrandmother. I too am trying to find more on the McClellands. Grandma "Della" married James Ephraim Porterfield. They lived in Porterdale,Ga,for some time and had 12 kids.Let me know if you are still looking.
