Hello-
My Grandmother, who was a Dunn, told of a story of her g.g.grandfather, Robert McCulloch, who fought at King's Mtn. during the Rev. War. He had a brother, Thomas, who left Washington Co., to move West.
You mention a James L. McCulloch. Are you famaliar with the McCulloch-Cuddy Cem. outside of Abingdon, Va., near the Holston River? There lies a James L. McCulloch b.1 Aug. 1834, d.3 Nov. 1883, as well as Robert McCulloch b.2 May 1764, d.29 Aug. 1849 and his wife Sarah b. 25 Nov. 1775, d. 28 Dec. 1854.
I'm pretty sure that my Robert had a brother, John. My grandmother gave me a document dated 1813 and both their signatures and seals are present.
