McGauleys in the Midwest

I am relatively new to researching my dads side of the family, who to the best of my knowledge, live in Michigan. I am trying to trace back to the country of origin-Ireland to present day. All I have been able to find is that my family descends from Irish sept. This is as far as I have gotten. Any help is appreciated. I am sure like most Irish families, mine immigrated from Ireland to NY or Boston but after that I am not sure-mostly looking for names of ancestors right now.
Thanks.

Mcgauleys of wednesbury, staffordshire, west midlands area

hello there i am looking for more information on the mcgauley family who lived and were born in wednesbury between around 1850-1900s. james mcgauley was the head of the family who was originally from kildare, ireland. he was first marrried to margaret mcgauley (possibly nee mcdonald, not quite sure) who was born in mayo, ireland. James had the following children with margaret, john, thomas, james, joseph, mary, peter, william and henry. He then remarried a mary m mcgauley (not sure of maiden name) and had 3 more children with mary called ann, francis and edward james. All of the children were born in wednesbury, staffs. I believe the father james mcgauley may have died about 1956, the same year as the birth of his last child edward james. If you are a mcgauley or have or had mcgauley relations in the black country area, please respond, any message is appreciated.

p.s if u have any information mainly on the two children william and henry mcgauley born 1882 and 1883 this would be helpful.

Many thanks

That is great!
I don't have much information yet on William John McGauley as I am related to his sister, Jane McGauley.
What do you know about the McGauley family?

I only have a few pictures of the McGauley's (about three) but can email them to you. Perhaps you might be able to identify them (person and date had been identified, but could be wrong). Do you have any pictures of William John McGauley, his siblings, or parents?

If you wish, you can email me directly at Star_Kar@hotmail.com
I am so shocked right now! I am one of Wiley Carter's great-great grandchildren and am looking for answers of my own about David and Jane. I am not sure if they had a son named Wiley or not; however, according to my records, they had a daughter named Trinity Carter who married my g-g grandfather Wiley Carter. In my research, I have found contradicting information, so I am trying to sort through it all. I found that Wiley Carter, jr.'s (my gg grandfather) parents are Wiley Carter and Ann Ansley and he was one of 12 children. But, on that particular document, it says that Wiley was married to Rachel D. McGarrah. Perhaps you could be of some help to me in this matter. I hope I have helped you. Please contact me if you would like to compare notes.

Pat
I will be forever grateful. All the pieces are falling into place! The fire photos, endless code books and especially the 2' high model of the Arch with the "wrong scale" notation. I only wish I could have know him by more than the box he left under the bed. Please, give me more details.

Please contact me ASAP!!! We are cousins!!! I am the granddaughter of James Samuel CARTER, Sr. older brother of your great grandfather Brent Wesley CARTER! I have much information about the CARTER family, but have been seeking the CARTER grandparents of Sam and Brent and their siblings. Their parents were David Adam CARTER and Sarah Suzannah "Susie Ann" RENTZ. I think that they are David L. and Jane McGauley CARTER, but have no proof. I remember my great Uncle Brent CARTER! I knew that he had married his cousin and that her name was Virginia, but did not know how they connected. I have pictures of the CARTER clan. Would love to share info with you! My mother and 5 other siblings are still living. My mother (Maymie Joel CARTER) and your grandfather Ottamus CARTER were 1st cousins!

Re: Thomas McGauley

Thomas was a very good friend of mine and helped me with the reconstruction of the entire economic structure of the united States. Many people don't know this, consequenting Thomas an undeserved obscurity. He also was a dutiful fireman and personally saved the lives of fifteen orphaned children in the famous Tutweiler fire of October 1937.
A gifted artist, Thomas observed the need for monumenta in the Midwest and was generally reputed to have urged an inebriated Elial Saarinen toward the (eventual) Memorial Expansion Arch.
He was a decorated war hero serving with OSS in World War II. Most of his exploits still remain classified, however, Thomas was reputed to be the first OSS officer to decipher the Odessa Code for the Allies.
I cannot write more because they are bringing me my pills now.

Franklin Roosevelt

Re: Jane McGauley

Shena - It was so good to hear from you!! I posted that message over a year ago and have only had two replies - yours and also one from William McGauley, a descendant of Jane's brother.

I tried to e-mail you direct at your hotmail account, but it came back as failed mail.

I, too, have been stumped by Wiley Carter. It seems that there were several Wileys. May I ask where you found your info re Wiley's parents, Wiley Sr and Ann Ansley? Wiley and Trinity had a daughter named Virginia, who was my great grandmother. Virginia married Brint Wesley Carter and gave birth to my grandfather, Ottamus (OC) Carter. Most of these people, to include Jane and David, are buried at Ten Mile Cemetery in Baxley, Georgia. That cemetery is a fountain of information. Also, have you read the book "Footprints in Appling County"? It is written by Ruth T. Barron and is a history of Appling County, Georgia from 1818-1978.

I hope you don't mind, but I forwarded your message to my father. He has done more research than I have and will be very interested in your message. Please drop me a line and let's exchange more info.

Robin Barnes
