I know this post is old but I'm hoping you have found more information on Robert McGee since this post. Sarah McGee Kersey is also my 2nd great grandmother. I have not had any luck finding information on her father Robert either. I found this post while searching his name online. Any information you may have found in these last few years in this regard would be much appreciated. Which of Sarah and John Parker Kersey's children are you a descendant of? I'm from their daughter Lydia Kersey Cashatt.

I am currently searching for the father of a John W. McGee who married Emily Miller (23 July 1853 Monongalia County WV - 29 June 1884 Monongalia County WV according to a death certificate found at www.wvculture.org/vrr) I do know from a 1880 Census that they had 3 children: Idella (might have went by Ida), Alberta (She married Harmon Trickett and they had 13 children, which included my Grandmother Geneva) and Elam. But recently I did come across another child Ellen, but nothing else on her.

I went looking to see if John W. McGee remarried after Emily passed and found a "possible" marriage to a Elizabeth Trickett. (Found at the website mentioned early.) There listed is a Ephraim and Nancy (even though it says Trickett as his parents, I believe it is safe that the person writing the information down meant to put McGee.) I know Elizabeth's family....I am just trying to pin down John W. McGee's family, siblings and etc.

If anyone can help, that would be great. Even if it is down a different road, I dont mind.

Thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully assist.

P.S. If you are able to help, please list your sources or what not. That would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

I'm looking for information on my father's mother, Lucille McGee, possibly Lucille Anthony as well. She died in 1971, I believe. My father was born in 1946, and she gave him away to Mardest & Jake McGrew of Mt Sterling, AL shortly after his birth. My father indicated that he believes his bio father's name is Ed McGee. His brothers and sisters, also Lucille's children, are Thomasine, Cleon, and Frank McGee. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Looking for info on David McGee born 1739 in Surrey, VA and died 1814 in Beaver Creek, NC. Son of Ralph McGee and Ann Clanton.

I've read reports he may have been a Kentucky pioneer and was with Daniel Boone at Boonesborough, KY when it settled in 1775. But ot sure if this is the same David McGee.

I have copies of Revolutionary War muster and pay rolls for David McGee in March/April 1778 (Valley Forge), June/July 1778 (Brunswick), and July/Aug 1778 (White Plains). The valleyforgemusterroll.org site shows David McGee has a birth date of 25 July 1762. Is this wrong, or do I have muster/pay rolls for a different David McGee?

John McGee died 1866 Texas; who was he?

There is a probate record in the 1890's in Montague Co., Texas for the heirs of John McGee who died in the county in 1866. The claim is for reparations for damages/harm done by Indian raids before John McGee died; the reparations were to be paid by the federal government to citizens who had suffered or died from Indian raids in the area. Since there is a Magee family who came to north central Texas before 1860 besides McGhee and McGehee families, does anyone know of this John McGee?

I am not sure that we are talking about the same family. Are your ancestors in Tyler County Texas? Tyler Texas and Tyler COUNTY Texas are two different places. They are not really close to each other. I grew up in Tyler County and the lady who wrote the history had the maiden name McGee and she became friendly with my family because we were the only McGee's in our town. My parents had moved to Tyler County from Nacogdoches County after WWII. We could never find a relationship to the lady--but she considered us "kin".

I would be very interested in any history of the McGee's in Tyler County, TX. My great grandparents were married in Tyler TX even though they were born and raised in Greene County, TN and continued to live there after they were married. I always wondered why they traveled so far to be married. My great grandmother's name was Alice Malinda McGee. Perhaps she had close family in Tyler and wanted to be married there where they were. She was married in 1881.

I have been researching my gt grandfather's family for over 15 years now and the results (below) are a testament to how well they have hidden themselves! Despite leaving various messages on various interest boards no subscriber to any of those boards seems to have a connection to my family.

The LDS British Isles Vital Records Index (1st & 2nd Editions) and Family Search have helped get me started and the Parish Offices of St Michans and St Joseph's, Berkeley Road in Dublin have added a few more relevant pieces but still the brick wall remains almost unscaleable!

Is there anyone out there that has an interest in my Magee/McGee family? (The family name spelling seems to have changed quite regularly).

1 Francis MAGEE Born: abt 1836 - Where/When Unknown d: 26 May 1877 Dublin

+Elizabeth MCNALLY Baptism: 31 January 1842 at St Mary's Pro Cathedral, Dublin m: 02 Nov 1862 at St Michan (RC), Dublin. d: 28 November 1889 in Dublin

2 Mary MAGEE Baptism: 27 September 1863 St Peters, Drogheda, Co Louth

2 Michael MAGEE b: 20 April 1865 in Trinity Street, Drogheda, Co Louth

2 John Francis MAGEE b: 8 January 1869 in Trinity Street, Drogheda, Co Louth Baptism: 10 January 1869 St Peters, Drogheda, Co Louth - Sponsors: Gerald DALY & Mary MATTHEWS d: 28 January 1930 in Drumcondra, Dublin

+Anne DALY b: Abt. 1872 in Dublin m: 25 February 1895 St Joseph, Berkeley Road, Dublin d: 9 July 1913 in Dublin

2nd Wife of John Francis MAGEE:
+Ellen J RUSSELL Baptism: 8 July 1877 Mitchelstown, Co.
