I don't know whether you are still with us at this late answer date or maybe have already found what you need......but Frank Mckain who married Ida Goodpasture was the son of Robert T. Mckain(son of John andrew McKain and Margaret Duncan} and Spica Jane Green.

This is what I have on Anthony's pedigree to date, however I do have quite a bit on his progeny: M_McLean

1. Robert2 McKain/McCain (McKain/McCain/McKane/McCane/McKein1) was born Bef.
1765 in Ireland., d. abt. 1830. He married Unknown. She was born Bef. 1765,
and died Bet. 1820 - 1830.
I first found Robert(1), John and Anthony in Dearborn County, IN. in 1820
Children of Robert McKain/McCain and Unknown are:
2 i. Robert3 McKain/McCain, born Abt. 1785 in
Ireland. He married Unknown; born Abt. 1785 in Ireland. (Connection assumption)
3 ii. John "Andrew" McKain/McCain1,2, born Abt. 1787 (proven)
in Ireland; died 1849 in Ohio Co., IN. He married Margaret Duncan3 Bef. 1820 in
Pennsylvania/Indiana???; born Bet. 1790 - 1800 in Pennsylvania; died Bef. 1850
in Indiana.
In 1840 a female 10-15 years was living in this family. I
believe it to be his sister, daughter of Robert and Unknown, since I can no longer find them.
4	iii.	Anthony McKain/McCain, born Abt. 1790 in Ireland; died Bef. 1860 in Ohio Co., IN. He married Catherine(Katie) Nelson Abt. 1820 in ???; born Abt. 1800 in Ireland; died Aft. 1880 in Aurora, Dearborn County, IN.
5	iv.	Daughter McKain/McCain, born Bet. 1810 - 1815.
Notes for Daughter McKain/McCain:
I think her name might have been Elizabeth.

McKean/McKain/Cain, Families from Ireland to Pennsylvania

McKean/McKain/Cain
Where it all began: Northern Ireland, possibly Donegal in the 1800’s. At least two brothers (it is rumored that there were at least two more) left Ireland for the United States. Samuel arrived about 1835 and William about 1837. They brought with them their wives and children.
In the 1850 census both families are living in the Cedar Ward of Philadelphia: Saml McKean and Wm McKean…note the spelling. It was to change different times. Samuel’s first wife was Nancy (Ann, Annie) Bovard. They had five children: John, born in Ireland and Sarah, Jane, James & Catherine, all born in Philadelphia. William was married to Catherine Burney. They had six children: William was born in Ireland; Catherine was born “on the sea” abt. 1837. John, James, David and Hester were all born in Philadelphia.
Catherine, daughter of Samuel and David, son of William would later marry.
William’s family would eventually use the McKain spelling……….EXCEPT for the oldest son, William, who changed his last name to Cain.
Samuel bought a farm in Washington Twp., Butler Co., PA in 1854 and he and his first wife, Ann, moved there. His son John bought a farm in Venango Twp., Butler Co. Sarah married and lived in Emlenton, Venango Co., Butler Co., but died young. Jane married and stayed in Philly. James married and lived in Scrubgrass Twp., Venango Co.; but, later moved to Washington, Washington Co., PA where he died. Catherine married David McKain, son of William McKean/McKain and Catherine Burney. They lived in Washington, Washington Co., PA.
Samuel’s first wife died not long after they moved to western PA. In 1857, he married Mary Ralston; and, they had three children: Margaret, Samuel and Mary……..I am descended from Samuel.
William B. Cain, son of William, Sam’s brother, had six children. The youngest, Elwood Cain moved to Beaver Co., Pennsylvania, married Ellen Mary Shannon, and they raised their family there. They had three children. My “cousin”, Lois Butler Cain and I are working on this project together. She is descended from Elwood and Ellen’s youngest son, James Shannon Cain.
We are looking for anyone who knows anything about other McKean/McKain’s who could be brothers of Samuel and William………..and………….anything about where they came from in Ireland.
They were born to Ida Goodpaster and Mr. McKain/McCain in Dearborn Co, Indiana, probably at Sparta. Carl was born in June, 1897 and Hazel in May, 1900. 1920 Census shows that Hazel was living with her grandmother, Kate Davis in Posey, Washington Co, Indiana. I could not find more informaqtion on her in 1930 Census and I could not find her married name. Could not find Carl, too.
1910 Census shows that Ida remarried to Louis Stafford and bore four more children, living in Sparta, Indiana.

Would appreicate your assistance.
Hi, all: I am trying to track down (and pin down a maiden name for) Sarah M. McKain, m. Daniel Houser McKain some time in 1884-85 (guesstimate based on the birth date of their eldest). My ultimate target is their daughter, Nola Catherine McKain, b. 09 Feb 1904 in Pennsylvania, d. 1989 (location unk). I keep coming up with Sarah J. McKain but with a maiden name of McKain as well, and married to the wrong person. I'm trying to hang on to this specific spelling as well as that is how it is spelled on my living relative's birth cert. Has anyone encountered this name? Thanks muchly!

On the Web:
http://www.defenselink.mil/releases/release.aspx?releaseid=1...

IMMEDIATE RELEASE No. 610-08
July 17, 2008
Soldiers Missing From The Vietnam War Are Identified

The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced today that the remains of two U.S. servicemen, missing from the Vietnam War, have been identified and will be returned to their families for burial with full military honors.

They are Chief Warrant Officer Bobby L. McKain, of Garden City, Kan.; and . . .both U.S. Army. McKain will be buried on Aug. 11 in Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, D.C., . . .

Representatives from the Army met with the next-of-kin of these men to explain the recovery and identification process, and to coordinate interment with military honors on behalf of the secretary of the Army.

On May 3, 1968, these men flew an AH-1G Cobra gunship on an armed escort mission to support a reconnaissance team operating west of Khe Sanh, in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. Their helicopter was hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire, exploded in mid-air and crashed west of Khe Sanh near the Laos-Vietnam border. The crew of other U.S. aircraft flying over the area immediately after the crash reported no survivors, and heavy enemy activity prevented attempts to recover the men’s bodies.

In 1985, an American citizen with ties to Southeast Asian refugees turned over to U.S. officials human remains supposedly recovered from an AC-130 aircraft crash in Laos. While subsequent laboratory analysis disproved the association of the remains to the AC-130 crash, some of the remains were those of McKain . . .

Between 1989 and 2003, Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) investigative teams working in Laos and Vietnam made five attempts to locate the crew’s crash site, but could not confirm the location.

Among other forensic identification tools and circumstantial evidence, scientists from JPAC and the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory also used mitochondrial DNA and dental comparisons in identifying the remains.

For additional information on the Defense Department’s mission to account for missing Americans, visit the DPMO Web site at http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo or call (703) 699-1169.

I do know of some brothers/siblings, but still in the dark & would appreciate being in touch. I had some info from another McKain relation, but not dates, from Mary in CA. I'm from Mary Lillain McCain Plummer line.
Hope to hear from ya soon. There some info that I'm not sure is correct about her line. Have you heard of her marrying a Lewis man before Wm Plummer? I hadn't. They were from Washington Co, OH then moved to Columbiana Co, OH & died there in the mid 1920's, & buried in WVA.

I'd like more info on Alfonzo McCCain. I wasn't sure of the spelling. I found his death certificate recently, but would you happen to know when/where wife, Lula/Lulu was born & died? Birth I assume was OH, but checked & I don't think she died there. Maiden Name? Marriage? Children? I would appreciate some leads to work on. McCain was my gr. grandmother, Mary McCain Plummer, whom married WH Plummer.
As far as I know she only married once, but someon has her married to a Lewis man. Can you verify this or what? I never knew it if so, but would like to know if so, but my gr. grandfather, was James, & his name is Plummer not Lewis. So I tend to dispute this Lewis thery.
Would appreciate any leads to a conclusion. Thanks, Cathy

His wife Douglas Mary Dunsmore (yes, her name is correct!) was a famous pioneer who brought some of her children from England New Zealand after her husband was killed in a riding accident. There is heaps of information about her on the internet if you just google her name. If I can help you with any information on them, I have loads of it.
Regards,
Karen

I am a descendent of John Armstrong, born about 1732-35, in Scotland, died either 1760 or 1801. His son James, born 1750 in Ireland, married either Elizabeth or Elizabeth Westbrook/e. I am trying to find out who he married, as there is some confusion, due to some records related to passengers on the Mayflower being ancestors.
James' son Thomas, his son Spencer Jacob, his son Luther, is my grandfather Charles Everett Armstrong, born in Minnesota, died in Washington. I would like to have any information you have about these folks, especially about John. I'm putting together a book about our family history.
Thank you so much!
Sherry

I have a William McKain, Jr., in my tree who was born in 1785, Byram Township, NJ. I don't see a Dunsmore with my McKain, however. I have Charity Drake as his wife.

My William died on 20 Sept, 1843, in Sussex County, NJ.

Could this be your William?
