I too am interested in Hendersons from Dalmannie. My data shows that William, John and James H. went to Ireland From Dalmannie. No further data.
We have a John H. Dob 1731, who emmigrated with a son(?) William Dob 1786 and wife Mary with a family of seven Hendersons from County Down to Quebec in 1839. We have vast data from then on but no connection to Scotland.
Where did you find the Dalmannie departure data?

nvalentine@msn,com

There is a Bob McKerlie in Canada who is a professor of some sort, he contacted me several years ago to map in my heritage, which he did. We date back to early 16 centary to a George Mckerlie from Glenluce.
I have a Robert Henderson that I know little about. He is the second born son or Robert Henderson and Margaret Jane Carnahan and was born in Dalmannie Scotland in 1769. The family went to Co Caven Ireland and then to PA. He is the only son in this family that I don't have date of death, spouse, children etc. Maybe he went to Boston and married your Jane?

My ggggrandfather was William McKerlie (1778-1863). He is buried at St.Paul's Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Nelson (now part of the City of Burlington), Halton County, Ontario. I have no idea where he was born but his children had links to the Kennedy family who came from Perthshire Scotland to New York State (Fulton & Monroe Counties) in the late 1700s. I expect that William may have come to Canada via the States. He was settled in Nelson by 1816. Some of William's grandchildren moved back to the US as mid-western and western States opened up for settlement. Many stayed in Canada. Would be happy to have more info re William and happy to share family connections that I have uncovered.

Just read your entry. a few weeks ago I received my dad's birth certificate from Oneonta, NY. He was born 10/14/1889, named William McKerley and it lists his father as WILLIAM J. KcKERLEY, 30 years old and from Canada. My grandmoster was Frances F. Carr, 22 yrs and from Connecticut.
A few years later my father was renamed Wm Fitzgerald and my grandmother was married to a Nicholas M. Fitzgerald.

I never knew my dad's name was McKirley until after Nicholas M. Fitzgerald died. So I have been looking also.

The city of Oneonta is in the county of Otsego, NY.

I don't know any more right now. Hope you see this reply.

Bill Fitz......

I know that there is a seperate bunches of McKerley's in Cherokee and Calhoun Co.

My family has some secrets and I am unsure of what. Rumor has it that my greatgrand father, John Ira McKerley was not a McKerley and was raised by James Irwin McKerley and took on the family name, and because of this we are disowned by some of the older generation. I do know that in the 1900's James Irwin McKerley married a Ella or had a daughter by the name of Ella. She abandoned him in the 1910 when he was ill and we lost track of her.

My maiden name is McKerley and I have been trying to trace my family tree for @20 years. I can't seem to find out any information on my great grandfather James Erivn McKerley. He married an Amanda Green in Cherokee, AL during the Civil War. We found him in the 1880 Alabama Census living in Jackson, County Alabama. Prior to that we do not know. His mother was living with him and her name was Adaliza and we believe she is buried in the Goshen Cemetery in Piedmont, AL with Ervin. We can not find her in any census. But a Lizzer McKerley was listed as the widow of Confedrate Soldier Dave McCurly. If you have any information on these people please contact me.
