Paul Francis McLaughlin Paul Francis McLaughlin, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Twinbrook Medical Center after a short illness. He was a resident of Benetwood Apts. in Harborcreek and prior to that lived in Wesleyville for 60 years. He was born in Erie on October 4, 1919, son of Joseph and Louise McLaughlin. Paul graduated from St. Patrick’s Grade School and attended East High School. He was stationed with the US Coast Guard in New London, Conn. from 1942 to 1945. He is a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and was a member of St. James Church for 50 years. He was an active member of the Cursillo movement for many years. He was a former Little League coach, an active member of St. James as an usher and Eucharistic minister. Paul was an avid golfer most of his life. He retired from Coldwell Banker as a realtor for many years. Paul is best known for his love and faithful care for his wife Betty and his devotion as a father. He is also well known for his friendliness and love of people. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Elizabeth “Betty” McLaughlin; his three devoted children, Daniel (Becky) McLaughlin of Eustis, Fla., Carol (Tim) Carney of Lapeer, Mich., and Patti (John) Jugenheimer of Ellijay, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) McLaughlin, Daniel McLaughlin, Joshua (Rachel) Carney, Brian (Miyuki) Carney, Daniel (Laura) Carney, John (Jessie) Jugenheimer, David (Angie) Jugenheimer, and Christine Jugenheimer; ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Joseph, Gerald and Donald McLaughlin; a sister, Betty Christiansen; and a grandson, John Carney. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd. on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of Mercy RC Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment, Trinity Cemetery.
