Hi Cindy,
I am connected to the Cross family. Acutually I think it is impossible to do any family in Buchanan Co, without doing pretty much all of them. They just are all connected. I have 23 Meades in my files. You just never know how far down the line they were come together with more family. Along with the Meade family of William Meade, there were Kelings they ran into the Yeakley and Dittemore families. Actually the Yeakley and Dittemore were more or less the same as we all shared a common grandmother. I don't know just what either of us want but I do want to know if you are working on the entire family? They are all buried at Bethel. If you want to go to the messsage board, type in Dittemore and go to a message by Cindy Marcell. She has them all listed on and photo's of the gravestones in Bethel. You can get there thru this message. I was able to find John Leander's family back to his great grandfather. Will mail anything you want. Don't know why you could not email me as I have had that email address for years now. Would like to hear from you.

I tried to use your email but it wouldn't go through. Anyway,I have always been interested in my family tree. John Lester is my grandfater. He is buried in Bethel Cemetary along with my grandmother Maude Mae. I know my grandfather had 2 sisters that ran a Mission in the Kansas City area. He may have had other siblings, I'd have to look that up. His dad was John Leander and mother was Sarah Jane. My dad's cousin and husband do a lot of research on the family tree and have put together a wonderful scrapbook of info. What kind of info are you looking for? What motivates you to do research? I enjoy the stories of my ancestors. I look forward to hearing from you and helping in your research as much as I can.

Josephine Amanda Cross. I am actually from the Yeakley/Dittemore family. They are one in the same kinda, we share a common grandmother way up the tree. I have a Nellie Meade born April 12, 1923 in Letcher, Kentucky to William Ballard Meade and Nancy Jane Wright.
Nellie has a sister Norma L. and a brother Ballard.

Parents: Thomas 1839-? and Bridget 1861-?
Siblings: Patrick 1881-1941, Mary 1884 and John 1884 (Aka Jack)

We don't know a lot about Thomas but in 1917 when the US declared war on Germany, Tom joined
the US army and went to France where he was gassed and wounded, then returned to the
frontline. He wasn't killed. After the war Tom returned to USA and worked on the railroad where
he was badly injured when he was crushed between two trains. Tom married in America but we are not sure to who.

I am looking for decendents of two bothers, William Thomas b. 1859 and John L b. 1861. I believe that the Meade family buried in Bethel Cemetery are all from these brothers. William Thomas for certain. I would like to hear from anyone whose Meade family have been around Buchanan Co., Missouri for that long. William was married to Josephine Cross, an old time family in Missouri and John was married to woman named Sarah J.-- These men were the sons of Isacc (Iszak) Meade and Sarah Woolery.

I am looking for my Meade lineage and am unable to get to birthplace of Jacob H. (possibly Homer) Meade. Born in PA, he moved to Fremont with 1st wife Susan (possibly Kline). They had children Minnie Mae (m Fred Eason), Cora D (m Wm Way of Nunda) and Clarance. Susan died and Jacob remarried Jane Demery who was working on her uncle Geo. Robinson's farm in Fremont, where Jacob was also a hand. I have no idea where in PA they came from. Meade is correct spelling, since they took pains to name grandson Stanley Meade Eason. My grandmother was Susie Meade Hughes, the sister of Henry Meade, Melvina Meade Miller and Columbus Border (C.B.)Meade.

Their mother was Lizzie Hyman(Hymon)Meade.
I do have many pictures of all the brothers and sisters.

I have Thomas Meade and Johnannes Cuntze as his parents. Henry and Frances children are:
Fielding, John Wesley, Viving, Martha, and William.

If you have access to Ancestry my family tree is under Meade Family. I go way back in the Meade line.

I have an article written by a descendant that says that the house is gone but might give you a clue.
"the mansion stood on an eminence just back of the town of Suffolk and had an avenue of trees that let from it to the church."

Is anyone researching the family of Michael MEADE and Ellen COADY of Toronto? They were married in Toronto on June 21, 1892. Michael was the son of William MEADE and Margaret O'BRIEN and Ellen was the daughter of Thomas COADY and Mary DINEEN. In the 1911 census they had the following children: William b. 1890, Alma b. 1892, Margaret b. 1898 and Harold b. 1901. Note that Ellen was called "Nellie" in 1911 census.

MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Walter L. Meade, 73 of Muscatine, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000 at the Muscatine Care Center.

According to Walter's wishes his body has been cremated and there will be no visitation or service.

He was born April 13, 1927, in Stone, Ky., the son of Walter L. and Charlene Johnson Meade.

He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Cincinnati Milling Machine Company for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He loved to fish and read.

He will be deeply missed by his two daughters, Mrs. Tony (Mary Kathleen) Logel of Muscatine and Ann Kristine Meade of Mountain View, Calif.; one grandson, Jeremy Fowler and a great-grandson, Tyler John Fowler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
