Hi JI/Jesse. The family tree I have only goes back to Francis Meline born in France 1790 married to Jane Louis1798, in France they married in 1829. They be4gat 9 children. It is quite possible that we connect a little further back. I'm not sure where or how.

Hi Helen,

I just recently started researching my history. From these post and pictures I have, it seems that Andrew (Anders) Meline was married to Hilda. They had children Herbert, Sadie, Alice, Harry, Wally, Mrytle, and Ella. Ella is my grandmother. Anders and Hilda were born in Sweden and settled in Wisconsin. I'm just at the beginning of my search.

Fred

Hi Levina,

This is Kim Spratto. My mother is Louise Vincent, Daughter of Josephine Dinet who daughter of Elzina Dinet. Josephine would have been your Auntie if she would have live. And your grandfather Joe Dinet is my Great Uncle Joe. He was married to Auntie Lillian who passed away many years ago from diabeties, whom was your grandmother, right? Anyway, don't you live in CA, Sacramento area?

I see alot of the cousins who came from the Dinet family on a regular basis, Joyce Alward, her daughters Marlena and Becky; Aunt Dot or Dorothy Townsend, her daughters, Helen VanHussen, Joanne Bennett and Roseanne Mosely. All those ladies and your mom can tell you so much about the Dinet side of the family. I think they are all gone off of 38th Avenue in Sacramento aren't they? Didn't your grandfather Joe have 8 daughters and 1 son Don?

I think my mother Louise and the other cousins would be so much better to answer that and more. We should all get on an email chain together. I've always wanted a real family tree so to speak.... Anyway it is fun to talk about all of it that's for sure.

I'm at kvspratto@yahoo.com or you can call me at 925 516-8222.

Take good care and God bless!

Kim

Please email me direct at kvspratto @yahoo.com. I have put a space in the email address to make sure that you can read it, just don't put that space in when you are emailing me.
I am excited. I just found the missing link, so to speak. I have wondered how I could find out the name of Eusebe's mother. Well, I looked on Rootsweb, the Ca. death records just now. Thye list Elzina and Euzbe with his mother's maiden name of Litel. That did it. John Dinet/Vinet was married to Mary Attala Lightell/Litel/Lytel. Hot dog we have a connection.
Lynda

Hello, so glad you are still on this board. You can write me direct at lmd42@swbell.net.
I guess you found your relative on the 1910 Census, LA, Plaquemine Parish. There he was listed as Euseb Denet with his wife Alzina. They were in the vicinity with the Treadways and my ggfather John Noel Denet.
Then on the 1920 Census, your relative was listed as Euzet with his wife Alzine. Still in the same vicinity as other Treadway and Denet families.
I have some records I will be glad to share.
The big question is, who was the father of Euseb/Euzet? I think it was the older John Denet.
I guess you have found that this name is listed as Denet, Dinet and Vinet.
When did your relative move to CA? Several memebers of this family moved to CA, including my gmother and my birth mother.
Lynda

Hello.

My husbands g-grandmother's name was Alice Meline. All I know is that she was born somewhere in Wisconsin abt 1867 and married Gustove Roberts date unknown. Gustove & Alice had two children Florence Elizabeth (my husbands grandmother) and Gustove Jr. Florence had one child Alyce (my mother in law) and Alyce had three children Robert (my husband), Jennifer and Brian. Robert married me and we have 5 children.
I have just started researching out his family, and have not had great success. I do know that there where two Alice Meline's in Wisconsin born within a year of each other, but can't figure out which one belongs to us.
Alice was Gustove's second marriage. His first was to someone named Jennie. And that is about the extent of what I know right now. I am working on finding out what I can.
Feel free to contact me at glaunerheritageinfo@yahoo.com.
Dee Glauner

Marie, born in 1852 - Smaland, Sweden, was my grandmother. She married Charles A. Ludwig (grandfather) in Stillwater, Mn in 1890. He changed his name from Andersson to Ludwig after immigrating to US in the mid 1870s. Charles was married twice before Marie, each time going back to Sweden for a new wife. (they each had child-birth deaths). Also,
he came from Karlskrona and was the son of Johan Andersson and Elin Carlson. Any info would be a delight.

My great-grandfather was from Sweden, and it is believed that he changed his name from "Pearson" to Meline. I have been told that it is not uncommon to "buy" and different surname in Sweden.
