Looking for any information on Isaac Mendez of Texas. He lived in San Antonio, Texas during the 1940s and was said to be a baker. He married Sofia Lewis Morales and they had a daughter together in 1943 (my mother). He was originally from La Piedad, Mexico, possibly lived in Corpus Christi at one time and later settled in San Marcos, Texas as a baker. He was married several times and had several children as well. Please reply if you have any information. Thank You!

yes let me give you the info I got Adolfo Mendez was 27yrs of age when my mother had me she was 23 here in the city of Carpinteria. California, in 1950 he was here under the Bracerrio program under the United States and California Law.
back in the day the people who works the land move with the grower and farmers needed help and the picking starts and that was the way it was back in the day..in 1950 he was send back to Mexico because his time was up. He went to Mexico and never told my Mother he was coming back. May be he went back to Michoacan. Mexico. and came back later .
that is all I know Eddie . if he was 27 in 1950 that would make him being born 1922-23. Richard.

Adolfo Mendez he was 27yrs old in 1950 it look's like 1922-23
he was born. And that's all I got on my birth certificate his

In 1949 Adolfo Mendez came to work in California under
El Bracero program in that period of the time. In 1949
around that time Adolfo had made a relationship with
Victoria E. Garcia from a little town La Junta Colorado,
and later I was born in May 19.1950 he had gone back so they said my Mother said he was gone one day and never to come back to us, and later she ran into Rosario Jimenez a nice Man married my mother and steal together after all these years and that is why I have his last name Jimenez because he gave me his name and I respect that man as a father he would go
and come but he would stay away to long but we were poor like everyone Ells.

My, maiden name is Maria Josefina Mendez Purcell and I am from Puerto Rico=at this point I have no knowledge of any Adolfo in MY Tree. My Grandfather was born in Asturias,Spain. Nobody has mentioned any Adolfo from that side of the Mendezes. I do know there is another Mendez branch in Arecibo PR but we are not related and I have no clue as to how to get in touch with them...Maybe if you Google " Mendez Family from Arecibo Puerto Rico" you may get somewhere.
My heart goes out to you because you are looking for your biological father...have you tried the Registro Democratico en Puerto Rico? At this very time they are requesting that we NEED/HAVE to get new certificates and I asked if I could ask for information about deceased relatives but that I had no photos or ID's becasue we never met them...the anser was," ONLY the person related (that would be YOU) can apply for such info and all you would have to do is GIVE THEM ALL INFO YOU HAVE,as little or as much and send $5.00 with a self address envelope and a $1.50 for whatever it is, I can't recall. You could go to the internet and find the info about the Registro Demografico in Puerto Rico.
Good luck my friend! I have heard it said that we are ALL related 16 generations back, so YES< somehow we ARE realted...my honor to be related to you!

Hi! My father's name is Jose Trinidad Mendez. He was born on Jan 27,1927 to Juan and Rosa Rodriguez Mendez in Laredo, TX. Juan Mendez 1904-1967 was born to Trinidad Mendez (1850) & Augustina Delgado Mendez (1850). Rosa Rodroguez Mendez (1903-1989) was born to Jose Maria Rodriguez and ? Valadez (1863) (name uncertain. this is all the information I have on my side of the Mendez family.

HiMaymay;Sorry for answering so late...my Grandfather's BROTHER was Manuel Mendez Lopez-may not be the same person-There were 3 brothers that came to the islands...Jose, Manuel and Andres. They were born in Villabona Espana a village of Navia Oviedo Espana.
I know Manuel had a son named Antonio,,does any of this sound familiar?

I was born in NYC and my father came here from Guadalajara Mexico. I have a half brother I have never met and I think his name is Raymond.

I am trying to find out information about my great grandmother's childhood and parents. I have been able to find her marriage to Evaristo Ortegon and the death of some of their children but nothing on her as a child or who her parents were. Her death certificate states she was born in 1888, but does not list her parents. Some of the census's with Evaristo, state she was born in Texas and some say she was born in Mexico. Also, the census has her name as Florencia. The info that I have found was in Bexar County Texas, and Evaristo was from Laredo, Texas. We have been told that she was adopted or given away because her parents had too many children. Any info would be a great help.

Searching for information on my husband's great-grandmother. She gave birth to at least three children (female infant 6-19-1941, who died); Ruben Mendez (1942); and Roberto Mendez (1944). The father is unlisted for all three children. She later gave her children to others for adoption b/c the story is she had too many children to care for.

I also found a Bexar County birth certificate for a Mercedes Mendez that shows she was born 1-22-1926 to father Merced Mendez (age 36) and Ignacia Segoba (age 23), both of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. I'm not sure if this is the same Mercedes who gave birth to the three children, but the age range would make sense.

Any help would be much appreciated. My husband's grandfather is trying to find out more info about his biological family.

Searching for the parents, marriage date, and other pertinent information for Jose Francisco Xavier Chapa and Maria Matiana Mendez. Jose Francisco Javier Chapa died 6 Mar 1824 in Agualeguas, NL, Mexico, and Matiana Mendez died 14 Aug 1837, also in Agualegueas.

Their children were Ana Gertrudis (b 1783), Jose Ignacio Laureano (b 1786), Ana Gertrudis Zeferina (b 1787), Blas Maria (b 1789), Jose Ramon (b 1790), Maximiliano (b 1790), Jose Tomas (b 1793), Felix Salvador (b 1796), Maria Del Refugio Patricia (b 1799), and Jose Alejandro (b unk).

Ana Gertrudis died at 2 days of birth; Ana Gertrudis Zeferina married Joaquin Cantu; Blas Maria married Maria Margarita Barrera; Maximiliano married Maria Juliana Serna; Felix Salvador married Maria Guadalupe Benavides Vaes; Maria Del Refugio Patricia married Jose Antonio Guerra; and Jose Alejandro married Encarnacion Guerra Canamar.

I descend via Maximiliano and Maria Juliana and currently am at a dead-end on Jose Francisco Xavier Chapa and Maria Matiana Mendez. I am working on my family tree and any information or leads is much appreciated.

Mendez and Fernandez family in Kerala, India

I am searching for my family history and am not sure where to begin.My father, Antony Mendez was born in Anjengo, Travancore, India in 1927 and his father, Andrew was born in Quilon, India in 1895. Andrew married Sarammah Fernandez whose father and mother, Varghese and Rosamma Fernandez, and their parents, Thambi Fernandez. That is all that I got. It is probably many more families before the likelyhood of actually knowing who are our spanish or portuguese descendants
Any help is gratefull appreciated.
