Hi caprina mesa. I'm lorraine mesa and I'm also trying to find out about my familys history. I'm 22 and I'm just very interested. My grandfather is manuel mesa jr and he told me my family came from spain then either some or all went to cuba then to the keys. And well that's all I know. I know a few names n they were re used in the family... but issac mesa, manuel mesa sr, george mesa I have to look for the rest I had written down. I know there was one that was in the army I can't remember his name. I even know there was one mesa that kept his wifes body hidden in his house. That's all I'm remembering right now. So if we could be related I would love to hear from you. Babymama_da@yahoo.com

Other than my Grandfather, we do not know any ofour Mesa relatives. My Great Grandfathers name was Jose I think. He left a family in California and relocated to Chicago, IL or somewhere in the midwest. Family was from a ranch in Michoacan something like Erongaricuaro or Patzcuaro something ending in a cuaro. I know Great Grandpa had another family when he relocated, would be nice to make contact and perhaps find some uncles, aunts or anyone with the Mesa last name. He had three children with Sara Gonzales, Ruben, Robert and Carmen. Hope to hear back thanks.

POW/MIA Korean War

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Grant County, New Mexico as his home of record. His remains were never recovered. Our government has no family contact at this time for this soldier

Soldier: RUDY VELASCO MESA
Born: 1931
Date of loss: July 12. 1950 POW

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (79years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
Please contact me. I had an uncle who passed away two years back. He served during WWII and was stationed in Fort Bragg. He was a ball turrent gunner and flew missions over Normandy and the like. His name was Alexander Mesa. The only way we could really know of your mother's parentage is through a simple DNA test, which my father and uncles would not deny her. Isn't the possibilities simply astounding. Alex was 84 when he passed. He was destitute and was housed in an assisted living facility. He never married, and up to this point we never even considered him as having been a father. I will say, if our Alex is your Alex, this man was an extremely charismatic man. A ski insteructor, teacher of history and Language Arts and a lover of the wide outdoors. Quite the romantic, and unfortunately I lost him way too soon to learn more about him.

Thanks for your recent reply, it was good to hear from you. I would like that very much, if you could have him contact my family. I would really like to know if this is my father, since I've been trying to find him for so long.. Do you have any other info on him, if so could you please send it to me. I would like to learn more about him before I actually speak to him, I haven't seen him in so long. Ask him if he had any children when he lived in Airizona. My moms name is Val. She now lives in Washington. If you could pass this on to him and let me know if you have my address and phone number, so I can send it to you. Thanks again I hope to hear from you soon.
Brian Mesa
