Looking for any history of my grandfather (above)and family. I understand he came from Czechoslovakia, had large land holdings in Hinsdale IL, was an attorney of questionable repute. Sr's wife died when son was 17. One son, CJ Michal Jr, married first to a lady named Helen before remarrying in VA. Can anyone fill in blanks for me? Many thanks.

INstead of Frederick or Fredrich and variations do you ever see any chance of Ferdinand and variation of that variation or Frederick. I had father of Bertha and her sister as Ferdinand Micheels. Lived by franks

My Michel - Michael - Michaels family is said to be rooted in the Chicago area. My g grandfather's parents are said to be buried there. My g grandfather came to the U.S. in (approx.) 1896 and his birthplace is listed as Pressburg Austria (which is now the capitol of Slovakia). His name was Paul and he may have a brother or close relative named Charles/Charlie.
Thanks for the offer. Paul was buried in the Cleveland, OH and I am told "Uncle Charlie" went to buy a paper and never come home (Cleveland also). It is their parents who I am told are buried in Chicago. It is going to take a little more digging around to determine info on them since my grandfather (Paul's son) didn't talk much about his family.

Sarah

My tree starts with Metej Michal & Josefa Waczar. They are buried in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Chgo. I don't have their brothers and sisters and later on there is no Paul or Charles. Do you have any idea what cemetery they are buried in? If you don't, and if I get a chance this summer perhaps I can check on your Paul and Charles. You can e/m me at cjmich35@ameritech.net if there are other names to check as being buried in Chgo.

Re: Christian Fredrick Michal(Micheel_

There are little reasons I believe we are looking for the same information. My grandfather is Fredrick Christian Micheels, his father (my great grand father) is William Fredrick Micheels born 09/15/1870 in Pommerania Germany, his father is Friedrich Micheels and his mother is Wilhelmine Polzin. This is the information I was able to gather on my own. The last names are really messing me up on my search on my grandmothers side ( her last name is as she spelled it was Neyer, but I am finding that it was Neier)so I am hesitant with the information I have on my grandfathers side. If this is indeed the same family, please respond with any information you have. I would appreciate this as I am just starting to put together the family tree for the Micheels side. Thank you!
You may email me at vpbartsh@cannon.net also.
