Connie, My maiden name is Micklo, my father's name was Nick. His parents names were Michael and Malenka and they came from the Ukraine. My father was born around DuBois, PA and then the family moved quite often - where the coal mines and factories were. Castle Shannon, Northside Pgh, and then Curtisville in West Deer Twp. My grandparents were married and had a daughter in Ukraine. Unfortunately, she stayed there. Besides my father, my grandparents had the following children: Mary, Charles, Mike and Steve. My grandfather had a brother Dan who was given the surname of McKalloff when he came to America. I'm interested in finding relatives.

Roberta Micklo I would like to hear more from you. I know that my grandparents first settled in Pennsylvania close to the New York border (after coming from the Ukraine). I don't know much about my grandfather's siblings except for a brother named Dan. There could be some connection as it seems ironic that some many given names are the same that is in my family.
I am Connie Micklo originally from Duquesne, PA. My grandfather was Michael Micklo and he had 6 sons and 1 daughter. They were John, Constant, Stephen, Jules, William and Michael Micklo. The daughter's name was Betts and she married and moved to St. Louis. My father was Stephen Micklo. The families lived in the Duquesne, McKeesport, and West Mifflin area.
If it is the same family, John Micklo had a daughter Connie but I don't know where she is or her married name.

Noted this earlier EM requesting Micklo info. I have found many Micklo's throughout the US, but my earlier ancestors all originated from Lithuania. Most of the others seem to be of a Baltic origin, with names changed once landing in the US. My immediate family lived out East during th 80's, north of Philadelphia and did find a few Micklo's in the phone directory. A recent death of my mother - my aunt indicated our original name spelling was Micklyzk - and changed to Micklo upon arrival to the US. Guess this won't help you much, but geneology can be extremely complicated.

Micklo family from PA

Hello, I am looking for any information at all on the Micklo's from PA. I have been looking for a while and always come up short. This is actually for my stepfather and his father who is ill and would like to know his own history before he dies. They go by the last name Micklo without the "w", but probably dropped it at some point. I am looking for a John C. Micklo married to Edna Hackett. John had no middle name but used the c for work purposes. This family has no idea where they are from. If you could let me know what you have found on the Micklow's it might be helpful. Thank you.
I sent for John Micklo's Social Security application. On it the person prints their father and their mothers name. The John Micklo that I am looking into put that his Stepfather was Constantin Micklo. I still know nothing further but when I do I will email. I know how frustrating it can be.
