Ann Midwinter
I am looking to find an connection with my Great, Great Grandmother who was Ann Midwinter.
She was born in 1811 and died 19.9.1866. She married James Heath and on her death was buried in St.Peter & St Paul’s Church Northleach Gloucestershire.
It is believed that she may have been related to William Midwinter who has a brass in Northleach Church dated 1550, presuming that W.M relates to him..
William Midwinter had lands levied to him in the area in 1484 from John Purlewyn and his wife Ann, who was the daughter and heir of John Doding.
It appears that William Midwinter may have married a judge’s daughter named Lemryke in about 1482. In 1493 William Midwinter was bailiff.
Rumor has it that William Midwinter, in the reign of Edward IV, sent 4 rams and 20 ewes to the King of Aragon and from these all the Merino sheep in Australia and South Africa are descended.
If you can connect with this I would be pleased to here from you

Looking for ancestors of Kenneth Stanley Midwinter

I have just started researching my family histroy and am having a big problem with my mothers family.
Her father was Kenneth Stanley Archard (nee Midwinter) born circa 1918 in Camberwell, London. His natural parents were Stanley A Midwinter b:1887 (edmonton) and Nellie Alder b:1894/5 (walworth, london). Nellie died in 1918 in Camberwell and Stanley completly dissapears without trace.
I know that he was in the RAF (bus driver??) and that they married in Croydon in 1917 but cannot find out anything further about him.
I have requested a copy of his birth cert. but wonder if anyone has any information that would help.
I have some information on his adoptive parents, Nathaniel and Alice Archard , who were grocers in West-Ham, London, but cannot find any connection which would have lead to a possible adoption.

Here's hoping for some new leads.
Caroline

midwinter family

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. My Grandmother's first marriage was to a Midwinter, I am trying to locate this family as I believe she had children in this marriage, then left them all for my Grandfather. Her name was Ruth Bartholomew, born 7/16/1895 in Croydon, England but traveled to Canada, near Montreal either prior to marriage to Mr. Midwinter or after. She remarried in 1929. So children would have been born before 1929. Thank you.
