Hi, My name is Anna Hurd. My mother is of the Min family. Her history comes from Queen Min of Korea as well. She has 2 brothers, one in California Min Yong Sik, one in Korea, Min Choon Sik, a deceased sister named Min Bok Hee, a sister in Korea named Min Jung Hee and her name is Min Kook Hee. She has told my sister and I that there is only one "Min" family line and that they are all related. How old is your husband now? Is he mixed caucasian and Korean? I have a long lost brother that was given up for adoption back in the 1950's.

Thank you so much for replying fast. I appreciate your time reading my email. So i got it wrong, his last name is BOO not MIN. BOO YUNG MIN. Hopefully in the near future we`ll find his biological parents. Thank you again and God bless you and your family.

Sincerely yours,
Olga McFee

If his name is Boo(or Poo) Yung Min, then his name probably had not followed the rank in the names. My rank is 'Ki' and my father, 'byung(or pyung)' accordingly. My son is 'kyong' and my grandson would be 'hong'. Anyway, as long as your husband's name has record in Min genealogy book in Korea, he should be able to find his biological father or family.
Following is site for Min family cafe in Korea. http://cafe.daum.net/jubu.min Hope you find this helpful.

Hi my name is Olga McFee. Actually my husband is Korean. He doesn`t know anything about his family. He was adopted when he was a year old. His Korean name was Boo Yung Min (He`s not sure if it is "POO" or "BOO". I`m trying my luck here to find his biological family since it says in your post "MIN" family. It would be nice to see them and meet my husband and our two adorable kids. My email is olga_mcfee@yahoo.com. Thank you!

Hi,

I'm also a Min and am proud. There is actually a Yeoheung Min Association in Los Angeles. We had an year-ending party last December. About 15 years ago, many Min families gathered throughout Southern California for a picnic, and as far as I remember, there were more than 2,000 people at the park that were all Mins(Can you believe this?). Now, we are thinking of another one like that this May or June. Luckily, our former president has been with one of Korean newspapers, so he will post all stories about us whenever it is necessary. : ) Also, there is Min connections in facebook as well. Richard Min, a young person has initiated it and it is slowly growing to a bigger network. Hope it helps. Thanks.

I believe, if I'm correct you can do a search on the internet for "yohung" min clan which is similar to what the other gentleman wrote "Yuah Heung". Nothing on the internet, from what I gather, is written "yuah heung". I think there's a book written on one of our ancestors too: http://books.google.com/books?id=qNqUw-nb4vkC&pg=PA23&am... follow that link. Also, Queen Min is a famous figure if you don't know who she is already. I'm a Min and my dad has a collection of books that break down our family's entire lineage (I believe over 30 generations worth if I'm correct, but I don't if that means the Min Clan in its entirety or just our particular line) but i've never opened them up and am ashamed to tell you I don't know too much about the min history in general. Where do you live? Wow this thread is slowly moving along even though they are years apart. Hope we all get the answers to our questions of the past.

I've heard something similar how all Min's are related since there is only one line. I am trying to find out more information on our Min history. Any help on this would be appreciated. How do I find out more about Yuah Heung too?

Korean MIN Connections

Kihong - good to hear from someone interested in mapping the Min clan. Yes, you and my wife are without question related, since there is only one Min clan. Our kids are teenagers and would like to dig up more on the family without having to travel to Korea and dig through the written records in clan headquarters. I tried going to the site you suggested, but they need a pass word and so forth. Let's trade back forth what we've got - my wife's family records are pretty extensive.

Hi there,

If you are korean, and have the last name Min
, most likely you are of the "Yuah Heung" branch of
and that means that you and I are some how related!

I'm glad you were able to find this. I thought
it would be interesting to log our geneology
before our non-computer literate parents pass on.

So lets keeps in touch and go to www.Myfamily.com and
continue to add on to our Family line!

Did you know that our Family line goes back to
500 BC to the time of Confusious!

Good luck!
