Hi Liv, from Julia Minden's marriage certificate to Robert Blake, I discovered that:
They were married on 12 August 1838 at the Parish Church in St Pancras, London
Julia's father Abraham was already dead
Robert was a bookseller
Their witnesses were Ludwig & Eliza Gieseler. Ludwig was born in Germany which made me wonder if Julia has a German connection as our family mythology suggests.
Would be interested if you have anything else.

I realise you posted this 6 years ago, so not sure if you're still receiving! I'm also researching Julia Minden who married Robert Blake in 1838 then moved to Tasmania c1842. Their daughter Caroline who was born in 1846 is my great-great grandmother. I haven't as yet been able to find out much about Julia's parents but on the ship register (Sir Edward Paget)they sailed late 1841, arriving Feb 1842,and Julia was registered as having parents Abraham & Sarah.
I've just sent off for Julia & Robert's birth certificate so if I find out more I'll let you know!

Hi,have just started to look into my family history and I think we could be connected my grandfather was Joseph Minden who brother and sister were Leah and Alex Minden. His father was Nathanial Minden of Mile End Old Town,

Just looking to see anyone has more information on Nicholas Minden married to Anna Classen. I have done some research and am looking to find out his parents, siblings, etc... There are many named Nicholas Minden. I am referencing the Nicholas that emigrated to the US in 1854 on the ship "Angela Brewer out of Antwerp, Belgium, July 11, 1857. Born in Trier, Germany 1833. Died in 1914. I believe his mother was Catherine Gertrude Willems possibly married to a Nicholas Minden. I have Nicholas and Anna's children and some of their grandchildren. Mike, Rose and William Minden of Ft smith Ark.have a complete tree of the minden family from Nicholas to present they are in their 70's or 80's William would be my Uncle and Nicholas his grand father. I have some old copies that I tried to scan but they did not turn out.

My Grandfather: Henry Karl Knickmeyer born 27Aug1888
was born in Minden,Westfalen.
He emigrated to the US in 1909.
Mother's name maybe "Fiscus"(spelling maybe incorrect)
Could someone assist me with a email address or contact to learn further about my grandfather

He told me once he was in the military and rode as part of horse drawn cannon crew.

I am looking for any connection with Joseph and Leah Minden nee Mendes (married in London in 1871) or their children Betsy, Alexanda, Emmanuel, David, Nathan, Leah and Michael. Jospeh's father was Lewis Minden.

Does anyone have any info on:
Abraham & Julia Minden. Possibly emmigrated to Australia/Tasmania middle 1800's. They had two daughters Julia and Jane, Julia married in London 1838 and move at some stage before 1846 to Tasmania, Jane married in Tasmania 1841. Any info appreciated.

Nicholas Minden was born 3/23/1833 in Trier Prussia. In 1854 he emigrated to America. Took up residence in Cook County Ill. Became a citizen 4/20/1863. He and Anna were married 9/25/1865. My grandfather Nicholas was born in Peru, Ill 5/6/1876. In 1978 they moved by covered wagon to Charleston, Ark. Nicholas died in 1914 at the age of 81. Anna died 7/23/23 at the age of 87. Both a buried in the Catholic Cemetary in Charleston, Ark.
