Mira, Platt, Stoll, Becker, from Russia & Poland

Hello,

I am searching for any information on Henry Platt who married Mary Stoll. They were Jewish and he was from Russia and she was from Poland. I have found a naturalization card and death certificate for her stating the original name of Miriam Stolsky. Her death certificate filld out by her daughter with some incorrect information lists her mother as Harriet and her father as Kelbert Stolarsky.

Her birth date was 1888 February 16 in Poland.

Henry Platt was possibly Iman Platt or Plattnascoskovich. His birth date was 1875 May 14 we believe in Russia.

They had three children:
--Mollie Platt who changed her name to Mildred when she started school, born in 1914
--Kelbert Platt born in 1916
--Walter Platt born in 1918

So far as we know Kelbert never married or had children.
Walter was my grandfather. We know he was married once before my grandmother and he may have had children from that marriae. No idea on wife's name or possible child's. Mildred married Harry W. Becker who was a radio engineer. We know from a letter from Harry to my grandfather Walter that Harry and Mildred had "kids" but no idea how many or names or anything.

I also found a 1920 Census record for the whole family in Ohio but with the last name Mira. I am pretty sure its them because we knew Walter was born in Ohio before they moved to Chicago, Illinois, and the dates and all given names match. Kelbert is a pretty unusual name. We have no idea why the last name was Mira. However when I typed "Mira, Russia" into Google Maps it immediately came up with a town named Mira in Russia, so my guess is that's name from Ellis Island?

Any information on anyone would be greatly apperciated.

Hi! I just found on this site. My name is Daniel Mira. In hungary we use the names, surname,given name (Mira Daniel). I was born in 1989.10.09. I am 17 years old and live my parents and my sister in Hungary,Budapest. I try to sum up my family history in so far as i know. So i star with my grandfather. Mira János(John Mira) was born in 1923 (if i know well, but i will aks the proper date) in Transylvania(Erdély) then he moved Hungary and married Gidófalvy Piroska. They got 2 childs my father Mira László(Leslie Mira) borned 1948.07.20 and Mira János Jr.(John Mira Jr.) borned 1950.01.23.
Leslie Mira married (unfortunatelly i dont know the proper name, i know just the give name, i will ask).... Gyöngyi. They got a children László Mira Jr.(Leslie Mira Jr.). Then my father divorced and married with my mother Ferencz Ágnes(Agnes Ferencz). Then borned 2 childs. My sister, Mira Brigitta (Brigitta Mira) 1985.10.3 and ME Daniel Mira. My father's brother John Mira married and borned a child Mira Zsuszanna(Zsuszanna Mira) 1983.12.20, after John Mira Jr. divorced and married again and born another child Mira Zénó(Zéno Mira), i dont know his birthdate. My grandfather Jonh Mira died in this year in Hungary,Budapest. I only know these informations, but i try to know more..

Hello,

I am trying to find information on a Frank Mira who lived in NY. At some point (according to family legend) he was a policeman in Albany, NY. He was the biological father of my husband's grandfather, John Cervino. Therefore I assume Frank would have been born in the early 1900's.

The entire history surrounding this man is unable to be verified. But here is how the story goes: Camille Malfi got pregnant by Frank Mira. Frank left Camille and she married Terry Cervino. Terry adopted the baby.

My great, great, great grandmother was Romina Mira ( dont know her husbands name. Her daughter was Emilia Berini (married Carlo Cattaneo). Emilias daughter was Maria Cattaneo (married Carlo Binda). Marias daughter was my grandmother Eleanor Brunetti. What I have found out was that Maria's husband Carlo was from Taino, Lombardy, Italy. That's about as far as I have gone back so far. I don't know when Romina was born, but Emilia has a birth year of 1854.

By chance are you related to Jane Ann Mira, born in Fernandina, Florida, about 1806? She was married to Alexander Johnston and lived in Savannah, Georgia for most of her life. These are my great-grandparents and I'm desperately seeking more info on them.

I am related to Jane Ann Mira( my great grandmother)who was born in Fernandina, Florida in 1806 and married Alexander Johnston. They lived all of their lives in Savannah, Georgia, where he was a riverboat pilot. Does this ring any bells for you?

I am tring to find a connection with Jane Elizabeth Mira the family gave me the information that she was born Nov.5, 1854, theres no information on where she was born, her husband is listed as Antonio Aranda and he died in Denia, Spain. I was born in Tampa Florida, I believe my fathers name is Roland but he goes by the name Ed Mira. He was married to my mother Nancy who is now deceased. All I know is that she was my grandfather's Mother and that she was from Morocco. But no one seems to know anything about her. I also found out that Mira is a Sephardic Jewish name.
