My husband’s grandmother (Honora “Nora” Mohan b: abt 1898-1901) was the daughter of Thomas Mohan (born in Ireland) and Mary Ann Maloney (born in England).

Nora was born in Butler, PA. I believe her siblings to be:
Thomas (b. abt 1889)
Esther (or maybe Mary E) b. abt 1895
Leo (b. abt 1893)
Nellie (b. abt 1895)
Nora (b. abt 1899; d. 8 Mar 1957; her son/my father-in-law thought she born in 1901 so I don’t know if I’m really on the right track; Nora married Francis George Niehaus (b. 3 Aug 1900;d. 29 Jan 1962)
Margaret (b. abt 1903)

I “think” Nora’s grandfather’s name is Peter but I just can’t find anything to substantiate my “guess.”

Any help/information you wouldn’t mind sharing would be most appreciative!

I am looking for information on James and Rose Mohan who lived in St. Paul, Minnesota.

James P. Mohan was born in Arlington, Sibley County, Minnesota on May 26, 1860, James was married twice, his first wife was Anna Reichenbach. Following Anna's death, James married Rose (Owsianny) aka Lawrence on September 9, 1890.

Rose Owsianny Lawrence was born in Owatonna, Steele County, Minnesota on August 6, 1872.

James and Rose had one Son by the name of Roy J. Mohan. Roy was born in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, on March 27, 1891.

Roy J. Mohan married Jane D. Downing, Roy and Jane had one daughter Mary Lee Margaret Mohan who was born in St. Paul on February 19, 1923. They also had one son by the name of John Downing Mohan who was born in St. Paul on July 22, 1927.

Mary Lee Margaret Mohan met and married a man by the name of William Saam Lund.

I'm trying to find out about my great-grandmother. My dad told me that her maiden name was Stella Mohan and she was raised in Sneedville, TN. She died in December of 1994 at the age of 99. I'm assuming she was born in either 1895 or 1895. Any kind of help anyone can give me is much appreciated!!!

Mohan family in British Isles

I am looking for information on Patrick Mohan (bd 1832?) who married Anne Hart in 1864(?) & died 3 Oct 1919 in Willington, Durham County, subdistrict of Brandon; had three children that we know of, Thomas (bd 26/2/1877, Helena(bd 1876 & died 25 May 1922 aged 52 yrs in Willington, Durham County UD, and a Margaret who lived also in Willington, Durham County on 3 May 1922 at Helena's death. Thomas moved to Canada in 1910ish and married an Elizabeth (Liza) Ganner 22 June 1901; they had 8 children 4 born in England and 4 in Canada. I am looking for any information on the above family, namely if there were more children of Patrick and Anne and also what happened to Margaret. I can find no information from the General Register's Office in Mersyside on them, not even their birth certificates. I was able to obtain the death certificates for all but Margaret. Please let me know if there is anyone out there who can give me some insight on where and how to search for them. The LDS Family Search Org does not have them listed as well, and also are not on the Census for 1891, 1881, or 1851. Help!!!!

Has anyone got any information about Susanah, in 1901 she was living in Sheffield with her two sons John Lee and Frank, they later moved to Glossop. She is reported to be unmarried in 1901 but there is also another Mohan family in Sheffield at that time from Monaghan.

They had 10 children and my grandfather was the 2nd born, David James Sr. I remember meeting a few of them when I was younger and have a few pictures from when my nanny died (Mary Gertrude) but they have no names on them. Hello Im a Mohan looking for relatives. I know most are in PA. but im in Fla. My grandparents have past on and i did not get to talk about family much. My grandparents were David James Mohan Sr. Mary G. Mohan(weihagan) came from Braddock PA. My father was born in PA., but he and his parents moved to Fla. when he was in high school (David James Mohan Jr.) I know my grandfather had some brothers and sisters. And that his brother owned a family resturant bearing the family name, I meet him once by the name uncle chuck at his brothers (my grandfather) funeral when I was young. I am searching for the Ireland connection to my Great Grandfather, John Mohan.
He was born in Ireland, in May, 1848. I've been unable to find out where.
He emigrated to the United States in 1865, at the age of 17, arriving in New York City.
In 1880, he was living in New York City, and married to Ellen (O'Brien) Mohan, who was 10 years younger than he; and they had a 1 year old son named Thomas.
He was employed as a Car Man!

Hi Mohans, John Patrick b. 1879 Died 1958 in Wellington New Zealand, married Jane Sexton 1901 in Westport NZ. He is said to have come from County Cork, Ireland. Have 4 generations of decendents in NZ and Australia. Eldest living relative now 92 and going strong. HAs anyone info on Mohan in Cork Ireland or how to get parish or church type info.

They had 3 children: Catherine (b 1878), Wilhelmina (b 1880), and Albert (b 1882). I am especially looking for information on Sarah Mohan's parents. I am assuming that they are from Ireland because I cannot find any more records in the United States.

There was a FRANK MOHAN, who joined the circus when he was orphaned at
the age of 10, He ended up in Las Vegas, Nevada

BESSIE MOHAN, not much known at this time

MARGARET G. MOHAN b. Febuary 22, Abt. 1895, was placed with the
White Family, but the Mother died before the adoption could take place, she
then was adopted by the Gray (Grey) Family. She married a John Brown
in 1908 (Not a Typo, She was 13 at the time of her Marriage)

Two of the older sisters were almost of Age when they were orphaned, both married Doctors.

Dear William:

I am afraid our ancestry does not line up. You might be interested to know that the Doomsday Book has the deMohun family listed whose name was changed over the years to Mohan. You may be able to find out if there is any relationship there. It is said that we are related to that family, but I have not been able to ascertain for sure that we are.

Michael Mohan born about 1835 had sisters who married into all these other families. I believe they were all located in the Ballinamore area of Co. Leitrim. I think his parents were Micheal Mohan and Margery Cull. Any clue would be appreciated.

Bridget's Father was John Mohan Mother- Mary Welch. Bridget's Sister Mary Mohan, she married Bernard McCabe Bet. 1840-1871. He is the son of Patrick McCabe and Mary Farley.
Elizabeth Mohan was B: 1828 in Ireland D: 05/14/1907 Wrightstown, Wi. She married Peter Surface Bet. 1846-1868. He was born 1834 in Koblenz, Prussia and died Bet, 1869-1925.
Bridget Mohan was born 1821 in Mankery Ireland. and died july 01/ 1883 in Wrightstown Wi. She married (1) John Hughes, He was born in Mankery Ireland, and died 1854 in Canada, Bridget had a daughter name Mary Hughes the night her husband died. Bridget's daughter later married Jim McDaniel. Then Bridget married Frederich Agustus Thoermer.

Looking for family of John Sweeney born 1835 in Co Donegal who married an Nellie Mohan born 1840 Co Donegal. They had a daughter Bessie Sweeney born 1865 died 1947in Co Donegal. She married a Seamus (James) Gallagher he was born 1855 died Jan. 1933. Gallagher's mothers name was Rose Gallagher born after 1820 his father was Seamus or James Gallagher born after 1820 died 1900 His parents were Michael Gallagher born 1800 and Catherine McDaid born in 1800. Bessie Sweeney Gallagher and James Gallagher were my grandparents and they had 8 boys. The Gparents and GGparents all live and died in Ireland. Most are buried at Frosses. I have an uncle Hughie Gallagher and his wife Annie Gillespy Gallagher who stayed in Ireland and are buried in Mountcharles I think Frosses and mountcharles are in Inver Parish. My Grandparents had a farm in Casheloogary that my uncle Hughie sold in 1950 and moved to Mountcharles. Any info would be appreciated.
