My dad (Angelo) died in Dec 1987. As I mentioned my mom died in Sept 1970. I only recently learned she died from a severe contusion of the brain and there was a police investigation. I'm tring to get a copy of the investagation but the people I talk to tell me that if there was not a prosecution they only keep the records for 10 years. I'm not sure why my family lied to me about her death.

I didn't live with my parents, I grew up with my aunt and uncle in Poughkeepsie NY. I would see my parents about once a month for a few hours.

I do have 8mm films of Juana. I can transfer them to digital and provide them to you if you wish. You know I don't think I ever knew her name.

My personal email is ampm76@cox.net

Hello,

It's been so long since I posted my original request. I've forwarded the message on to my brother who can help fill in the gaps that my father told us as well as what my mother remembers. My dad, Carlos, was the youngest of supposedly sixteen children. I met "Tavin" as he called her once when I was a baby when she came to visit in CA. We know very little about his family. I did meet Juana once when I was toddler and have hazy memories of it. My dad died in 1986, a few years after his last surviving half-brother passed. We learned Angelo died a few years after that.

our grandmother, juana molina, died december 19, 1973. but the city of new york has no record of her death. i suspect it was because she died indigent, and there was no documentation about her in the US. census records indicate she was born around 1885 to newly freed slaves in arecibo. demetrio was the oldest child of about 16 (from different fathers, the last 3 were cordero). i was too little to remember tavine and angelo, and i barely remember meeting my grandmother in the bronx. we have never met any other of our dad's family.
Hello,

My mother is Octavia Cordero Montalvo. I did not live with my mom and dad (Angelo Montalvo) but I did visit them often in the Bronx and my maternal grandmother lived with them along with her brother. I didn't think she passed in 73 though but I don't remember.

My mom died in 1970 and I'm looking for information about her side of the family. I know I have a half brother that I only met once at her funeral.

I don't know if there is any connection at this time. My grandfather left Spain with his cousin. Both were about 16 years old. My grandfather's name is Gregorio Elias Molina and his cousin's name is Angel Molina. Both located later in Ventura, CA. Gregorio I was told was active with the Catholic Church there. I have no other information. Some years ago I had found a ship manifest that listed a Gregorio and Angel Molina as passengers but not listed together. I lost the info on this ship manifest years ago. I am trying to recreat my research. Thank you for your interest in the Molina Family research. Best wishes to your current family search.

Look in Southern Spain, Northern California. Yes I was successful in finding my father in documents, but I started with much information. Look in Sephardic.com, which lists the Hispanic names that are of Jewish origin. Molina is one of those. So is Martinez. Also look in Hawaii. Lots of Spaniards from Southern Spain when there first and then came to the U.S.

Oh, hello Kaye! I keep hoping someday someone in Italy will be as curious about what happened to Antonio Molina as we are about where he came from. It makes me kind of wonder why we in America seem to care more about our roots than our extended families care to know about their branches!

Hello:

I am sure that we have connected before, but for some reason, I think that we might have a connection even though we thought that we didn't. My great great grandmother was Concepcion Martinez Zayas (she married a Rosendo Zayas in 1896 upon the birth of their first daughter, and they had 7 or 8 children in total). I know that on the 1930 US Census, she calls herself "widowed" even though Rosendo Zayas did not die until 1963. Something I have always been confused about. Concepcion's mother was Guadalupe Jimenez and her father was Fermin Martinez. I'm wondering if Concepcion remarried a Nieto after divorcing Rosendo Zayas? Anyways, please let me know your thoughts because my gut tells me that there is a connection here, but we just have to figure out if it is really there or not.

Thank you,
Kimberly

My father's father Gregorio Elias Molina and his cousin, Angel Molina came over to the U.S. when they were about 16 years old. I don't know where to start to find our ancestors in Spain. They both left Spain between 1875 - 1885. Any assistance is requested.

If you have ancestors from Spain have you been successful in obtaining data?

Rafael Molina (born approx. 1900) in El Salvador

Hello, I'm looking for more information about my great-grandfather named Rafael Molina who had a child with Carlota Gochez in El Salvador back in roughly the 1920's. Their child was named Maria Luisa Molina.

I don't know their exact births, but here are my approximations:
Rafael Molina (born approx. 1900's)
Carlota Gochez (born approx. 1900's)
Maria Luisa Molina (born approx 1920's)

I know Maria Luisa (who ended up having 8 children with Carlos Alberto Ceron) lived in Juayúa, Sonsonate, El Salvador because I would go visit my relatives there when I was younger.

I've attached an image with a small lineage tree for reference. If you have any information, please let me know.

Thanks,
Nelson C.
