Escribame.

Molinari/Mangus/Speelman Marriage information

My grandfather (Harry Frank Molinari)was married three times. I have information on his his first wife (died of TB 1926), He applied for a license to Marry Bertha Pearl Mangus in 1927, however it was never returned. I know that they did marry as I have newspaper artciles from the day she died of gunshot wounds from a fight at a Roadhouse in West Virginia. His third wife, my grandmother, was Anna Thelma Speelman, I can find no information at all on thier marriage. The records have been checked in maryland and West Virginia. Suspect they either went to PA or VA, no wait period needed, to get married. I have not been able to find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Heather: I, too, am of the Molinari family who made pianos, organs, monkey organs, and orchestrions in Brooklyn from 1862 until @1930. My grandfather was Charles, from Giuseppe (Sr's) second marriage. I believe your grandfather, Alfred, was from Giuseppe (Jr) and Carrie, so he would be my grandfather's nephew, though they were raised together after our greatgrandfather and my greatgrandmother both died.

My great aunt Alice May Harvey married Juan Enrique Dowling. His brother Francisco, had a son, Juan Bautista Dowling who married Irma Louise Molinari. They had a daughter named Silvia who married Roberto Ignacio Balbiani. Is Irma Louise Molinari part of your family? I am having trouble tracing Juan Enrique Dowling and his son, Juan Jorges Dowling. They were from Carmen de Areco. My great aunt went to Buenos Aires in 1911 and presumably died there. Can you help me out in finding more info on them?

All I know for now is that my grandfather, Laurence Francesco Molinari was in the army in WWII and got moved to Venice in the mid-40's and moved to New York in '47.

All I know for now, wonder if he's from a branch of the family.
Hello I am Anita Molinari born in Philadelphia, pennsylvania, USA- daughter of Gaetano Molinari (deceased 1999) and Lucia Basile. Both my parents came from Italy. My mother told me that one of her aunts moved to argentina years before I was born. So I guess that would be my great aunt. My dad knew alot more information, but he's gone now. My mom said I had plenty of family in Argentina, but never knew or spoke to anyone. I'm not even sure of my great aunts name, but will ask my mom and get back to you.
Thanks
Email me at sophillysugar@aol.com

Hi i am trying to trace my dads family history , his family originated from genoa and had the family name of Molinari. We believe anthony or antonio molinari came over to liverpool UK in the 19th century sometime but have not been able to find out when. He changed his name to miller and know he had a son in 1862 named thomas (my great grandfather) We think antonio or anthony was born in the 1830s 0r 40s.
If you know of any information or link and know that family came over here please could you let me know so that i can carry on with my research.
we might be distant cousins so it would be nice to find out more thanks.
Jocelyn Dixon fomerly Miller

Re: Giovanni Molinari

In the 1900 census there is a Giovanni Molinari born 1860 and wife Teresa Molinari born 1865, living in San Francisco, CA, in the 45th District. The children are Joseph, Andrea and Luisa. Giovani, Teresa and Joseph were born in Italy. Andrea and Luisa were brn in California.

In 1900 Giovanni and Teresa had been married 8 years, with 3 children born and 3 living.

Giovanni's occupation is listed as : Scavenger

In 1910 there is a John Molinari age 37, and wife Therisa age 45, living in San Francisco, CA on Detroit Street. The children are Joe D., Luisa, Andrew and Tony. I suspect this is the same family as above in 1900, with age factors thrown off. Andrew is either Andrea or another child altogether; Joe D. is Joseph and Luisa is the same, then there is the addition of Tony. The form states that Therisa had born 5 children, with only 4 living so that could mean Andrea was the one who died and that is why the name is missing?

This John Molinari is listed as a factory laborer, born in Italy. Therisa and Joe D. were born in Italy, also.

Go to www.ellisisland.org and look for him and for Therisa/Teresa and for Joseph, too.

Bet you'll find them and possibly other family members or fellow villagers traveling over with them.
