I am looking for my gggrandfather's parents and siblings. His name is James M. Moore, b. in Bridgewater, Windsor, VT in 1830. I searched the 1830/1840 census records and found a William Moore, b. between 1780-1790, John b. 1790 in Mass. with a wife Melinda/Belinda with sons, Milo J. and Levi Burr, and Hugh b. 1791 in Mass. married to Lucy and son Hosea. I am hoping that all or some of these Moore's are tied to James. Let me know if you have any info. on this. Thanks!

In searching the 1830 and 1840 census, I have found a William, b. between 1780-1790, John, b. 1790 Mass. and Hugh, b. 1791 in Mass. I am hoping there is a connection with James and these Moore's. Do you have an evidence of that in your Bible? Thanks for checking!

Moore, Lynch O.

From the Ray Co. Missouri Probate Court records, I found entries showing that Lynch O. Moore abandoned his three minor children (putting them into apprenticeships.) This event occurred 27 Aug 1868. The childrens' names were: Elijah D. Moore, Mary A. Moore, and William T. Moore.

Also, it showed who paid for his children, if in fact any money changed hands:
Elijah D. Moore (Master--Frederick Itcliner?);
Mary A. Moore (Master--Justin? Bush);
William T. Moore (Master--Michael D. Crispin)

I cannot find any other information on who this Moore Family was. Any help would be appreciated. Perhaps this might assist others in their searches.

Linda Pearson

My gggrandfather was Haywood Moore and I noticed that a son born to Standford and Minerva is missing from your post. Alex Moore was born in 1844 in Arkansas and settled in Corylle Co. Texas along with his sister Vianna Moore Davenport. They are buried along with their mother Minerva in the Blackfoot Davidson Cemetary in the Flower Mound Community. As for Mary Warrick, it was said that she went to Georgia after McCoy died. Have no proof of that.

Before coming to Henderson Co. Tn,I do know Nancy and Presley left Chatham Co. NC and moved to Jones Co. Ga. then went back to NC. Seems he received the Ga. land due to his military service. I have a lot of information and a lot of it is not proven, but there is a close relationship to the Hensleys. I can speculate on several things, but just cannot seem to tie it all together.

Unfortunately, all I know about Frank is that he was born 02 Sep 1880 in East Farndon and was baptized 28 Jul 1895 in East Farndon.

I have information on his sister Mabel and her descendants, and on his uncle, James Moore, from whom I descend. If you'd like any of this info I'd be happy to share it with you.

I'd also love to learn about Frank or any of the other Moores you might know about.

Please write to me at yjeannie@comcast.net (my Ancestry.com subscription has lapsed).

Best regards,
Jeannie

Isaac Moore, b. about 1775; d. after 1836

I have a ton of info on this family. However...I can't get past ole Isaac!

Isaac was born in either NY or PA or CT. He married Clarissa Wilcox abt 1804 in Minisink, Orange Co, NY. They had 8 children: Charlotte, 1805; Mary Ann, 1807; Isaac Jr, b. 1810; Nathan, b. 1813; Leital/Lytle, b. 1815; Nancy, b. 1819, d. 1821; Samuel Shipman, b. 1819 (probably a
twin with Nancy); and Elizabeth Jane, b. 1822.

The family migrated to Delaware Co, OH in about 1815. However, I believe it was the children who migrated at that time, possibly with a James Moore and his family. James is possibly a brother to Isaac.

In 1819-1820, they were in Salisbury, CT (census and birth/death of Nancy and Samuel).

In 1826, I have a letter written by Isaac Sr. in Orange Co, NY to his son, Isaac Jr. in Delaware Co, OH. Isaac Jr. was 16 years old.

In 1828, Clarissa died in Minisink, Orange Co, NY.

In 1830, Isaac Sr. is shown as the head of household in Delaware Co, OH.

In 1836, Isaac Sr is again in Orange Co, New York where he again wrote to his son, Isaac Jr, in Delaware Co, OH.

In 1840, I have a possible Isaac Sr. in Deer Park, Orange Co, NY census.

Anyone have any bells going off on this one?

Lois Franceschi
Digging for my Roots under all the trees.
I am trying to locate Jacob Berry Moore's father who was also supposed to have been named Jacob Berry Mooore Sr.

I could not see anything in the Mississippi Indian Rolls. I went to TnGen to try to look at the Native American Rolls. All of the census takers report from all J Berry Moore's census in the 1800-1900 census that his father was born in Tennessee. Suddenly one appears showing a Berry Moore born in South Carolina. This threw a monkey wrench in everyone's research. The only film that said Jacob Berry Sr existed is distraoted and warped.It is totally illegible.
Is anyone here related to Jacob Berry Moore Sr. that can give me documentation ----not gut feelings---that this man was born in Tennesse?

Thanks Cheryl Haynes

I have been doing research on an Alexander Moore (or Alexander Moor) who died shortly after the attack on Fort Stevens in July of 1864. He was in Company A of the 61st Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers. The Mariners' Museum Library, where I am an archivist, has a letter from him to his brother James C. Moore. I am wondering, Don, if this isn't your relative.

I do not have any information on Alexander other than the circumstances of his death.
