I don't see any Morgan family tree connections. My tree has changed based on 1900 OK IT Census where connection is made with Redbone Dist, Marion Co, GA to William Henry W Morgan that married two Watt sisters. 99 percent of this family moved to Hillsborough Co, Florida before 1900 except for George W Morgan my direct relative changed his name to Andrew James Morgan after marring in Arkansas to Annie and returned before 1910 to Logan Co, AR. My father mentioned that one of the Morgans had worked on the docks of Baton Rouge but I don't think it would have been for more than 10 years since he fails to show up on any US Census. I spent years searching census of most southern states for my Morgan connection directed by my father. Results were zero.

Re: Lemuel C. Morgan - Lemon C. Morgan... A mystery

Are you familiar with Ashley or Drew County, Arkansas? My family always spoke that my Grandmother Orella; who was the granddaughter of Lemuel came from a prominent family. Her father was Lott Lake and he and his brother owned a business in Monticello, Arkansas. There was always talk that Orella's mother was Indian. I have nothing to back this up. I am currently working on finding more history on her ancestry. Your post was helpful. Thanks.
LaWana Morgan Joyner

Was Ardella the wife of William Morgan or was she his daughter? How was Ada related to Ardella?

I found a William K. Morgan who married Mary Ann Brown. They had a daughter named Ardella. Ardella married Enoch Turner Bridges. They were in Allen Co. KY in 1880. Is this the family? By Indian Territory do you mean Oklahoma?

He received a land grant from the Republic of Texas in 1841. His wife had died in 1840 and he then married Mrs. Byntha Bonnas in 1842.
I am looking for any information on James Philip Morgan and Margret Colville from Ireland c.1830-1840. I am particularly interested in their ancestors as these two people are my g.g.g.g grandparents. I believe that James was the son of Charles and grandson of Thomas. But that's as far as I can go. Any info on this family line would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a site which may help you. It is the Missouri digital collections. There is a section for obits and there are death certificates that are viewable and printable online. There are many other references offered here for that are searchable. I think you will find it a great reference

http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/#...

Good Luck.
I just LOVE the IOW - when we were in England last year, we spent four wonderful days there last May with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. It was wonderful to walk where they must have walked, and to listen to that beautiful creamy accent that they must have spoken. My great-grandfather Walter John and his family migrated here to Australia in the 1880s, and settled in Gympie, Queensland, where I live. I do love finding new relations, and communicating with them. It all helps in completing the picture of the family.

Would surely appreciate anything you can come up with for the parties I named previously. And can you tell me anything about the most elusive Frank William Morgan? I did find him in the 1910 and 1920 census then he disappeared for good. Again, apprecieate anything you can do to help.

I am looking for the siblings of my grandfather Sim Morgan. His father's name is Wash Morgan and Mother's name is Minerva. I believe Wash Morgan was married twice. The first wife's name, I believe is Martha Jane. So far, I have siblings listed as Walter Morgan, Sandy Morgan, Archie Morgan, Wallis Morgan, Bessie Morgan, Murphy Morgan, and Elizabeth Morgan. Everyone at one time lived in Newton County, Mississippi.

Can anyone shed any light on my search? I believe these are the correct siblings, but need to verify so I can dig a little deeper in my research.

Thanks,

Thanks

Do you know anything about the descendants of Charles Morgan. I believe this is my wife's grandfather, but she knows nothing about him. Her dad was Charles Glenn Morgan Jr.

Bcraig1970@gmail.com

Glad to oblige. I know how tough it is, trying to sort out all the John, William, & Benjamin Morgans that seem to have been in the Shenandoah Valley during that time. We've got to help one another.

Good luck with your Shenandoah County group. For all I know, they may actually be inter-related sometime prior to 1750 -- I can only verify that they were two distinctly separate families by the time Col. Benjamin Morgan & his wife Martha had their kids in Clarke County in the mid-1800s.

Perri

I found an Eveline L Morgan in the 1860 census with the Benjamin Morgan family, born 1841, but that is the only place I could find her. So now that you have flagged it, I think you are right and she does not belong with that family. I have since found a photo of the gravestone for James M Sanders and his wife Evaline, with birth year of 1836. Thanks for setting me straight!
