The Jno H. Morning in the 1850 Sumter Co, GA Census is the son of John Moring and Frances Spencer Bell of Edgefield Dist, SC. He was their third child, and his name was John Henry Moring. His siblings were Mary Moring Huiet, Martha Moring Satcher, Joel Josiah Moring (also spelled Morning in the 1850 Edgefield Census), and Frances Clark Moring.

There was a Thomas Moring /Mooring in Wayne Co, NC, born around 1800. All indications suggest that his father was Burwell Moring/Mooring.

I am confused. None of these names are in my lineage, but you signed your name "Frances Spencer Bell". Frances Spencer Bell is my ggg grandmother, and she married John Moring. I am not absolutely certain where they were born. I think they were born in Wayne Co, NC, but with certainty, I know they lived in Edgefield Dist, SC.

I also know that Frances Spencer Bell and John Moring had a son named John Moring. Please tell me how you are connected to Frances Spencer Bell. Thanks.

August was born abt. 1857 Germany and died 20 Dec 1925 in Indiana, He married Catherine Garty nee Kraus 30 Aug 1883 in Ft. Wayne Indiana, Catherine died 04 Feb 1946 in Ft. Wayne. There children were August Jr., Willhelmina, Henry, Margaret, Helen, Bernard, Joseph and Beatrice all born in Ft. Wayne. I hope some of the family still living might want to share some family information and most of all any pictures they could share.

Hi, I've been looking for info on Martha Moring Craig for some time. Census says born in alabama, married Andrew Craig in Lonoke and died there in 1928. He first wife died and she was a much younger second wife. My mother is from Stuttgart, and her father Carney Craig, son of Andrew and Martha Moring Craig had a cotton farm in the area. We are probably from the same Moring family. I have hit a dead end on her for a long time. If any of this sounds family, please let me know. Could your MORINGs be connected to the North Carolina MORINGS in New Hanover Co, NC?

Primary interest is if there is a dau named Pernecy, who could be a MORING/MOORING of NC (name shown spelled dif ways on Censuses) who mar Caswell HOWELL. Their 1st ch was born ca 1839.

I know that a bro of Caswell HOWELL's, Barney B. HOWELL b ca 1825 mar Smithy Ann MORING who was a dau of Henry MORING/MOORING of NC but cannot find the maiden name of Pernecy ? who mar (John?)Caswell HOWELL b ca 1820 NC. of my line of HOWELL. Some have theorized that Pernecy might also be MORING/MOORING.

Both brothers are found in Thomas Co, GA in 1850 Census living next door to each other - Caswell w/Pernecy & their 5 children in household of a Mary ALLEN, age 68 b ca 1782 NC w/2 daus or Granddaus.
So far no connection has been found on Caswell &/or Pernecy to this Mary ALLEN.

Will watch for a response & for any news you or anyone might have to share on NC MORING/MOORING & marriages to HOWELLs.

My father,Marvin Moring, is possibly the last surviving grandchild of John Bell Moring.He remembers John B.Moring quite well, he was about11 when JBM died.
There does not seem to be anybody who knows much about Patrick Henry Moring. He supposedly left his family and remarried and started another family.
I believe Joe did die before either of his parents.
I do have an Obituary for John B Moring.
Would love to see nmore photos. We do have the group family photo, My Grandfather Tait was sick with the flu that day and had to be pulled out of bed for the photo. He doesn't look too happy.

So, Joseph Donald Jr. died in 1962, do you know when Joseph Donald Sr. died (John Bell Moring's son, your grandfather)?

I have a newspaper article that states that "Joe" Moring (one of John Bell's sons) was unable to attend John Bell's 87th birthday party because he had passed away. This was in 1931, so I am assuming that Joseph Donald Sr. died before then. I will email the newspaper article to you if you wish. I have just transcribed it as well. I received it from a descendent of Tait (John Bell's youngest).

Can you help clarify?

Just wanted to let you know I am so excited you emailed me. Are you Joe & Barbara's granddaughter? I have a family pic that was taken about 1915 of John Bell and Catherine. It came from Jimmy Moring. It may be the same picture you have because the year is only an estimated date. My dad was Joseph Donald, but went by Bob or J.D. He died in 1962 when I was 15. At that age I wasn't too interested in geneology and didn't ask him very much about his family. I haven't been able to find out a lot but what I have I will certainly share.

Do you happen to know if their last child John Moring was John Bell Moring? This was my GGG Grandfather, I have Patrick Henry listed as his father, but I wonder if maybe your John Moring Sr. was somehow related to Patrick Henry Moring or Frances Spencer Bell, and therefore John Bell Moring (b. 1844) got his middle name? John Bell Moring was born in Green Co., TN and married Catherine Barbara Jenkins.

I would love to swap information, photos, stories and what not. I would love to chat more. I have a picture of the John Bell Moring family in 1920 taken for the couple's golden anniversary. I also have the death certificate of John Bell Moring. And some newspaper clipping scans about John Bell and Catherine Barbara. From what I have discovered Joseph Donald or "Joe" died in his 50's, but I have yet to confirm this. Do you know if that is true?

Also, does anyone have any information about Patrick Henry Moring and his parents and past that?

Jacquelyn, are you a descendant of George Webb Morring? He is my husband's gr-gr-grandfather. Word of mouth in our family is that George came from "the James River Valley" in Virginia. I have no further information on that. To my knowledge no one has been able to document where he came from.

The 1880 U.S. Census for one of George Webb Morring's sons indicates that George Webb Morring was born in Scotland. There is only one reference that states this. The general opinion is that he was born in Surry Co, Virginia, although no documentation has been found (of which I am aware). Has anyone researched the possibility that he was born in Scotland?

My Grandgrandfather Jakub Rodak was born about 1850y in Swiebodzin – Dombrova in Poland, his wife was Josefa Frantiska Josefa Janas, one of their childern Ladislav Rodak was my grandfather, he was born in11.02.1882 in Swiebodzin(Poland). My ancestors lived in Poland and about year 1905 moved my grandfather to town Ostrava in Bohemia (Czech), that was the land of the Empire of Austria-Hungary, today Czech Republic . Some of their brothers (law), it possible sesters (law), moved to US about year 1900.

Julia was the mother of Sallie and nine other children, including Stephen, Julia, James, Joel, Clay, and Acey. It appears she was married to Joel Moring, brother of Henry Clay Moring (who also lived in Grant County and raised his children there). There is a Red River County, Texas, marriage record for the marriage. Julia was raised there, and Lucinda (mother of Henry C and Joel and others) took her children there from Arkansas, apparently after their father's death.

Julia Mouring/Moring first appears in 1900 in Madison, Grant County, AR. (She may have been there earlier, but I haven't found a record.) She is a 43 yr old widow and mother of 10 children, 8 still living. With her are children Stephen (19), Julia (16), James (14), Joel (8), Clay (5), and Acey (1).

Does anyone have any information on her family? I know Sallie Buchanan had a brother Jim in Redfield at the time of her death and that Julia Shpard Moring is buried beside Sallie in Camp Creek Cemetery.

Could Sallie be an elder child of Julia? Could this family be related to Henry Moring's family, given the names? (My guess would be Julia's husband and Henry were brothers.)

Researching a J. W. Mooring who m. abt. 1844 to Sarah E. Unknown. J. W. was b. in NC abt. 1811 and d. in 1870 in Montgomery CO, TX. Have not found his parents or ancestors using the "Mooring" spelling, so am trying "Moring". First child, George W., was b. 1846 in GA. Second child, Reed B., b. 1850 in AL. Third child, John G., b. 1851 in TX. Another child, Caroline also b. TX in 1858. Family settled in Montgomery CO, TX. Thanks for any help!

I am looking for information on Sallie S Moring, who married J W Buchanan in Grant County, AR in 1896. Census records say she was born in Arkansas, and cemetery records give her birthdate at April 30, 1878 and death as Aug 20, 1956. The state can't locate a death certificate for her, and I have not been able to connect her with the other Morings of Grant County yet. Any help would be appreciated.
