I just read your post and maybe I have info of the Morrows thatyou search for. The info I have is on Samuel Morrow leaving N.M. or Arizona and starting a new family in California. There are contacts I made a few years ago but have not done so lately. My connection is that my Mothers Father was Thomas Morrow born 1874 in Texas and disappeared in 1914..it was his Father and Uncle that moved to California in early 1900s. Let me know if you have any ideas about this info.

Yes, I am a Morrow. J.T. Morrow, who wrote The Morrows and Related Families, was my uncle.... My father's brother.
It was printed 1978/9. It is out of print.
I'll see if I can find a book binder in Houston who can taked the binding apart so the book can be copied.

Then I can let you know about how much it might be.

Are you a Morrow?
How did you come to find this book?
Would you be able to find out how much it would cost to copy it? I do not think you would have to take it apart, just lay the open book on the copy machine. I would be willing to pay for the copying cost if it is not too outragiouse... Tami...Do you also have the book, The Morrow Cousins? What state are you in? My dad is 88 years old and I know this book would mean alot to him.

Hi! Have you found proof that George is this David's son? I have proved my lineage up to George (who stayed in Lawrence County, Alabama, married Frances (possibly Shaw?) and had many children), and have just come across David's pension application, which was process in Lawrence County. It would be wonderful if this relationship was proven! My connection to George is through his son Melito H. Morrow, who married Mary Ann Summerford.

Re: Morrow from Philadelphia

Hi Mary Beth:

You may have hit the Jack Pot today. My Grandmother is Rose Ann Coyle Hueber older siter of Aunt Julia Coyle Morrow. She was married twice. First to Garvis Duffin and then to Joseph Morrow. Aunt Jule lived behind my Grandmother's house (4241 Salem Street) on Paul Street. We used to cut through the back alley and through Aunt Jule's house to go to the Grocery Store on the corner. Can't remember the name of the store. Anyway, I have been doing our family Genealogy for over two decades and have spoken to distant offspring of the Coyle's and Strain's. James Joseph Coyle and Mary Ann Strain were third Cousins as indicated on their marriage certificate in Philadelphia (I have Copy). You can also obtain a copy of their naturalization papers (1914) on ancestry.com using below website. James was born in a very small townland called Ross Gill, County Donegal, and Mary Strain was born in May 1858 in Dunafanaghy, County Donegal, Ireland and both were baptized at the local Catholic Church. I have some pictures of the family and other records. They are both buried at Saint Dominic's with Aunt Mame Mary Ann Coyle McLaughlin and William McLaughlin. I would imagine Aunt Julia is there as well. I was babtized at Saint Joachims on Church Street where my grandparents were parishiners. Aunt Jule went to Mia Del Rosa on Paul Street. I think the only sibbling of Julia's that is alive is James Frances Coyle, not sure exactly where he is living.

You can reach me at morellwj3@charter.net

I went to High School with Jimmy Morrow and Tommy Walsh and Patrick Walsh who was a year or 2 ahead of me. I dropped out of North Catholic and went to Frankford High School as my 5 brothers who followed in my footsteps. Coming from a big family and rising tuition put a damper on the family.

http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?rank=1&new=1&...

Morrows in Appleton, Wisconsin

In the 1900 census, there is a Jamie Morrow and wife Mary with a NIECE Jennie Brady living with them. (born 8 1883 in Wisconsin)

I remember seeing a newspaper clipping that the niece met with an untimely death, but not sure if she's the one who got hit by a train or if she jumped out a window. Of course, I can't find the article in Newspaper Archives either. Should be around 1900-1905.

1. Anyone know the specifics of how she is related to Mary Brady Morrow?
2. Anyone have the citation for her death? If memory serves, it was about 50 words or so.

Can anyone help me? I am descended from Lucinda Taggart (b 1825 PA) She was supposedly the daughter of Samuel Taggart and Catherine Morrow, who moved from Washington County, PA to Baughman/Orrville, Ohio. Many people have copied this information to their trees without knowing the source, and so I have putative relationships with no sources. She married a James Roxbury in Ashtabula, Ohio and settled with him in Aurora, Portage Co, Ohio. I NEED DOCUMENTATION that she was indeed their child. This would connect me to the Morrows of Canton, Washington Co, PA and Orrville, Ohio.

Interestingly, I have a friend from college who is a descendant of the Robert Wallace Morrow of Warren County, PA, who is ALSO mentioned in these threads. Is anyone able to connect this RWM to Washington County, PA? We look so much alike that we have been mistaken for brothers on many occasions. I found the tie to Washington Co PA while researching HIS Morrows and found the Canton Twp [Washington Co, PA] history mentioning MINE.

Thank you for your kind assistance!

Thomas E.
I saw your post regarding Reuben and Caroline Morrow. One of their daughters, Sarah (Sallie, ca. 1848) was my great-grandmother. She married Joseph Douglas (ca. 1833) on 12-12-1875 in Henry County Georgia. Joseph and Sallie had three children: Carrie (ca. 1880) is shown on the 1880 census, Joseph Lang (1883-1921), and my grandfather Charles Morrow Douglas (1886-1954).

Joseph and Sallie both died when my grandfather and Uncle Lang were quite young. There was always the assumption that Carrie died, but email correspondence in recent years has given rise to the possibility that was not the case.

After her death, Sallie's sister, Elizabeth Morrow Strickland and her husband William took her two young boys into their home. The Stricklands lived in Carrollton, Carroll County Georgia. I have reason to believe that Sallie Morrow Douglas is buried in an unmarked grave in the Strickland plot in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery in Carroll County.

I know that Evelyn Morrow did extensive research on the Morrows and I have tried for a number of years to locate that information. I spoke with her sister (who has since also deceased) on a couple of occasions after Mrs. Morrow's death, but was unable to locate her research. Mrs. Morrow's son has also died.

All this is a roundabout way of saying that if you have additional information about this family line, I would be very interested in hearing from you. Email me at mwessinger@att.net Thanks so much, Mignon Wessinger.

Shiloh is one of the oldest cemeteries in old Lincoln County, North Carolina and in old York County, South Carolina.

Family names represented at the Old Shiloh Burying Ground are: Christmas, Crow, Dillingham, Dover, Etters, Estress, Gordon, Hambright, Hardin, Harry, Holmes, Howser, McCarter, Morrow, Patterson, Price, Randall and Williams.

Shiloh is now under the wing of the Historic Shelby Foundation for tax-deductible contributions for the restoration (repair) of this very historic cemetery.
I just returned from the Birmingham Library where I searched through 6 books on the Morrow family. Two of them were even specific to Alabama. Guess what? Not a single word about any of my Morrow line. George is a big puzzle! I know he was born in 1783 in North Carolina and according to his probate papers of his will in the Alabama archives, he died on September 27, 1859. From 1830 until his death , he lived in Warrenton, Al as a farmer. According to the Dec.2, 1850 Slave Schedule, he owned a 28 yr. old male slave, a 24 year old female slave and their mulato daughter was 3 years old. I know he had three sons...Orson H. Morrow and Joseph D. Morrow, Walker H. Morrow and daughter...Jane Morrow.
That is about all I know. Do you have any additional information??

They were George Morrow 1783-1860, Joseph D.Morrow 1813-1878, James K Polk Morrow 1847-1918 or William Henry Morrow 1866-1944. I have a little information but not much? There are several roads and communities named after the Morrows in Warrenton, but I don't know if that has anything to do with these men?
