hallo.We are Moysey fammily and also search the relatives of svoikh. Our mother the maiden name of Moysey . it had 7 brothers and sisters.he was born in Banyliv in Western Ukraine . Mothers of dad brothers immigrated in USA . some Connection was lost lesser then in 1920yeras and some relatives immigrated in USA,Cannada letter.We also khnown some relatives some of them lived in Russia,but some have died

Hi Deb, good to hear from another Bickford decendent. Which child of Nicholas Moysey Bickford are you decended from? I am decended from N M Bickfords brother John Whiteway Bickford. I am trying to fill in all the gaps ie all the decendents of mainly John Bickford and Anne Whiteway, there are a lot more people than I first thought there would be. I would be interested to know more about your line to add to the tree.

Hi Deb, am descended from John Bickford & Amy Harding too. Also have information on George Bickford Moysey & Annie Maria Teagle. I've got back as far as Nicholas Moysey & Hannah Phillips - father & mother of Robert Phillips Moysey born in 1773.
My great great grandfather was Nicholas Moysey Bickford.

We have 2 different Patty's! My Great Aunt Edith and I worked quite a while on the MacLean Family with several visits to Mt. Pleasant, Toronto and her and I were even lucky enough to get to Scotland before she passed away. Hi, Lorie. My name is Rosanne Hamilton, born Rosanne Moysey in Toronto, Ontario a couple of years before you. I am one of 5 children of Nick Moysey who passed away in 2000. My Mom still lives in Toronto. Her name is Val Moysey.

I remember that your Mom, who we called Auntie Cathy, came to visit us once when we were children. You were there at our house on Glenburn Avenue with your Dad. She was very nice and very pretty. My Dad really liked her. Her Dad, Bill looked just like my Dad except Bill had hair! It was unusual that your Mom had married a black man back in those days. Thank God that isn't the case today.

All I know is what I've heard from my Mom who told me that your Mom went to live in Las Vegas and worked there in one of the casinos. Apparently, the casino was robbed and your Mom was killed during the robbery. I don't know if that's exactly true as my Mom sometimes gets things wrong. We never heard anything again. My Dad wasn't close to his family. Apparently, he was abused very badly as a child and left home when he was 12.

My Dad's sister Anne, had a son named Bill Sowtus. He died from bone cancer many years ago but he was married to a nice woman named Doris Sowtus. She still lives in Toronto and was much closer to Elsie and Bill than my Dad. I'm going to try and get her phone number from my Mom and I'll pass it on to you. She might know something about your Dad.

BTW, got a hit from a Lorie Anne Bush. She is the daughter of Catherine Moysey and Doug Bush. I met her once when we were children. She said in one of her posts that her grandfather, Bill Moysey had two brothers, Sandy and Nicky. Nick was my Dad but I've never heard of Sandy. Do you know anything about him? Also, the poor girl is looking for any living relatives as she's all alone. To the best of my knowledge, her Mom, Cathy was a beautiful woman who married a black man. They went to Las Vegas and she was killed at a club during a robbery. We never heard what happened to her daughter. Maybe you can help. She's posted several posts on this site under LPatterson6972.

I believe we may be related... My Grandmother's name was Mary Moysey. My Great Grandmother's name was Kalina Moysey. She was married to a Peter Moysey-Pozyk. We show them having a son named Nicholas Moysey Pozyk. It is believed that our Great Grandfather Peter, took on the name Moysey, but dropped the name "Pozyk. We show Nicholas of having a birthday of Feb 17, 1921. I live in Vancouver, BC as well.

My father's name was Nicholas Moysey. He died almost 2 years ago in Toronto. He was 80 years old. He didn't talk much about his past, but we knew he was Ukrainian. I believe his father's name was Peter but I don't know for sure. His mother's name may have been Calena or Marie. He had a brother, Bill and a sister, Anne. Both passed away some time ago. My father was born in Chatham, Ontario, which is close to Toronto. I now live in Vancouver, British Columbia. Perhaps, we're related?

Nicholas Moysey's family originally came from the Ukraine area of what is now Russia. The family first went to Canada. Nicholas crossed into the US through a Canadian/Minnesota border. Nicholas could not spell--so the border guard put down his name as "Mozey". I am trying to locate any family records for the Moysey family of which Nicholas was a part. Nicholas would have been born in the late 1800's.
