Yes, but she married Ferdinand Kleinert and they lived in Connecticut. It is difficult to find information on Muellers for 2 reasons: 1. Mueller is an extremely common German name
2. Due to bombing during World War 2, many if not most records were destroyed.
Thank you so much for responding, how wonderful it would have been if it had been the same Clara.

Hi,
I am not related to this family, but I too have family with the name Mueller from Germany who later changed their name to Miller. It took me a long time to figure the variences out.

May I make a suggestion; if you have access, try searching the passanger lists, and any prior census records using the name Muller. The common spelling in Germany is Muller with the umlout.
When my ancestors came over in 1841, the name on the passanger list was Muller, then they used the spelling Mueller in America for abt 30 years, until it was changed to Miller.

Hope that helps!

Help with Mueller/Miller family

Hello, my other has asked me to trace her fathers family and I am having a bit of trouble. My grandfathers name was Harry Gus Mueller (Miller) 1906-1956, his parents were Theodor Mueller and Anna Holz or Holtz, they had several children, including, Richard 1905, Harry 1906, Dorothy 1914, Erna 1922... I am told that Erna had/has a twin named Erma but I have not found reference to this. They lived in New Braunfels during the 1920 census listed as Mueller and in Austin for the 1930 census & the name had changed to Miller, before those dates they lived in other places including Caldwell Texas. When Harry married my grandmother Mildred it was with the name Miller, but when he went into the service it reverted back to Mueller, my grandmother and their 2 daughters continued to use the name Miller. My ggrandfather Theodor was born in Texas, his parents were born in Germany, I have no idea when the trip to Texas was made but rumor has it that one of their children was born on the ship on the way over. I have no idea if this is true, I can not find any brothers or sisters or even my ggradnparents names or where they came from in germany. We would love to find ancestor information and if there are any other living relatives we would be tickled to be able to connect with them as well. If you have any information please contact me here or by email at sweetlittleblue1@aol.com, or even on Facebook. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

Anyone researching or know of Ludwig MUELLER, born abt 1810 in Allendorf/Lumda, Hessen? I have seen his parents named as Philip Mueller and Elisabeth (Kass) Mueller of Allendorf/Lumda.

Immigration was probably between 1855-1865. I have not found a ship's list for him, nor do I know where he settled in the U.S. He was married to Anna Katharina (Fortbach) Mueller. I do know that his wife's sister was living in York Co., PA with her husband, George Mueller. I have not found Ludwig there.

I have also sent this to the Mueller mailing list because I did not realise it was automatically transferred. My apologies to all who are getting this for the second time.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Helen

I'm researching my grandmother's family. We know she had many siblings...maybe 14, but many died young. Her sister, Gertrude, married into the Sielfleisch family and I have that information. Herb was married to Helen, but they divorced in St. Louis. My grandmother, Mary was married to a Jake Schmitt, which produced two children...Ernest & Gertrude. She divorced him in the early 1920s and married George Vogelsang, and had four children....Milton, Marvin, LaVerne & Ruth. Her mother's last name was Hutt, and we have no idea of her father's name.

I was born Carol Ann Mueller on July 23, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas. A year later I was adopted and my name was changed. I requested non-identifying information from Arkansas and finally received it. I am interested in learning about my biological parents. I know my birth mother was 17 when I was born. I admire the fact she gave me up for a better life. I only want to know where I came from.

My grandma's name was Clothilda Mueller. I don't even know how to begin looking for information. My grandma was very young when this happened and has never seen her family again.
Augusto E. Mueller

Claremont,California Courier newspaper Nov 25th 1908
FLIGHT OVER MOUNTAINS
Balloon "United States" which started from Los Angeles at 10:18 Monday morning it charge of Capt Augusto E. Mueller, accompanied by Joseph K. Hutchinson, a reporter, landed in the desert 15 miles northeast of Ehrenburg, Arizona at 4:10 the same afternoon, having traveled more than 260 miles.
The voyage was entirely satisfactory, as its purpose was merely to determine whether proper air currents blowing eastward could be encountered in an effort to journey eastward through the air.
The distance from Los Angeles to Ehrenburg is 260 miles, but the aeronauts traveled a much greater distance owing to the eddying of air currents.
Captain Mueller and his companion traveled 260 miles reckoned in an air line, in 8 minutes less than 6 hours. Their speed for the entire distance must have been in excess of 45 miles an hour. This trip demonstrates the possibility of leaping the barrier of high mountain ranges in long balloon flight. Mueller found a high current which bore him over the San Jacinto mountains not far from San Jacinto Peak, 11,000 feet.
Robert is pictured as an Army flight cadet in the yearbook of the 44-E Class at Hicks Field in Fort Worth, Texas. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the family.
Mueller

I am trying to find the children of Joseph George Mueller. I believe their names are George Jr.; Joe; and Bill or maybe Jay. Their grandfather was a brother to my grandfather. They would have origins in Indiana. I'd really enjoy finding them. If anyone knows of them would you please email me.
elsiesimpson@sbcglobal.net

George W. MILLER/MUELLER, 1851, Baltimore, MD

I am looking for any information at all about George W. MILLER, edge tool maker, who is shown at 7 Camden, Baltimore, MD in the 1851 Baltimore City Directory.

Was there anywhere in that area where an edge tool maker would have been employed?

Trying to find if this was the George Miller who moved to York Co., PA.

Help will be most appreciated. This is a major "brick wall" for me.

Thanks,

Helen Sanders
