I am looking for Hugh Footman, who married Cora Mulliken or Mulligan they had a child Everett G Mulliken or Mulligan depends on the record born 7 Feb 1897 Oakland Maine. married Wavie Spencer marriage on 6 May 1916 he put mother deceased at the time and father unknown if living. Everett took is mother's madian name.family all worked in woolen mills, Hugh may have been from Corianna area Cora from Pittsfield. thanks for the help.

Joseph Nicholas Mulligan, born 31 Dec 1855, 51 Mountjoy Sq. Dublin. died 1928 in Cardiff. He married Sarah Jane Dowling 1856-1910 (in Dublin?) 25 Mar 1875 iin London. Their first child Frederick John 1876-1959 was born in Dublin, the next two children were born in London. Joseph had moved to Cardiff by 1881 and was listed as a 'stereotyper' , this would tie in as his father, John Mulligan was believed to have owned a printing works / newspaper in Dublin. John married Elizabeth Caroline McLean who may be related to the McLean's from the Isle of Mull). Joseph went on to have 13 children in total. Does anyone have any information about his Irish records - birth, marriage. Or details of his parents or their business. He had three sisters, all born in Dublin, they may have been educated in Malta and all ended up living in London where his mother Elizabeth died in 1902. Please can someone me help burst through this brick wall

Margaret Mulligan, 1868-1930 yes a sister to Mary Elizabeth.
Margaret Mulligan married Joh Barber 1862 1945

I do not have any knowledge of the Davis family. My father's family survived the earthquake but resettled in Sacramento afterwards. I plan to do some further checking.

I don't know if we are related...but many of my relatives are buried in Colma. My great grandmother was named Bridgett Mulligan and she married Martin Davis. She may have had other relatives but I do not know of them. She survived the San Francisco earthquake but her house was destroyed. I think she had come from Billington, N.Y. prior to that. I do not know when she married Martin Davis.
Do you think there is a relationship somewhere? I have only a "pass" for this weekend because it's a free weekend on the Ancestory site. But my e-mail is cheryls_l@hotmail.com

I am looking for any relatives of John Mulligan who came to the USA at age 60 in July 1923. I have no middle name for him. I have a record of his arrival in Boston but then I lose track of him. He was from Askeaton,Limerick,Ireland. He was born in Ireland in 1857. I have recently found out through dna testing that his grand daughter is my 3rd cousin. My great + ha a son named William, born in 1837 in Cornwall Ontario and in their 1881 census there was an Archibald Elliot, age 17 and a Sophia Elliot age 9 living with them.

I am looking for information about relatives of Peter Mulligan who was born in Ireland (County Longford) about 1828. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1844 (per 1900 census). I have information about his heirs but am trying to verify his parents as Hugh and Bridget Mulligan. They (and many of Peter's relatives) are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, California. My father, also Peter Mulligan, was a grandson of the Peter to whom I refer.

ERIE, PA. – Marion L. Mulligan, 75, formerly of Corry, Pa., died on Tuesday June 21, 2011, at Golden Living Center-Western Reserve in Erie.

Mrs. Mulligan was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Corry, Pa. the daughter of the late Martin and Helen Babik Janosec Jr..

She was raised and educated in the Corry and Spartansburg areas, graduating from Spartansburg High School in 1953.
As a young woman, Mrs. Mulligan had worked at Loblaw’s Grocery Store for many years.

Mrs. Mulligan had resided in Erie from 1955 until returning to the Corry area in 1977. Since 1982, she had been a sales representative for the Avon Corp. throughout the Corry area, retiring in 2010.

She enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing and gardening, as well as, cooking, baking and music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Mulligan, on June 5, 2002. They were married June 11, 1955, in Corry.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marie Mulligan and a grandson, Patrick Mulligan.

Mrs. Mulligan is survived by two sons, John M. Mulligan of Waterford, Pa. and David C. Mulligan and his wife, Cyndi of Erie; eight grandchildren, Rachel Oberlander, Diana Mulligan and Rebecca Armagost and her husband, James, all of Waterford, Robert Mulligan and his wife, Heather of Edinboro, Pa., Jammie Brown and her husband, Ed, Scott Norris, Jeffrey Norris and Sarah Haines, all of Erie; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St. in Corry, today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Brown officiating.

Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Corry.

Mulligan-Sweeney Marriage in PA - 1880's

Looking for any information on a Mary Mulligan b. abt 1852 in PA who married a Hugh S. Sweeney born in Ireland abt 1857. They married between 1883 and 1889 probably in either Carbon or Bucks County PA. Mulligan was not Mary's given name, but her 1st husband's name. Mary and Hugh had a son, Bernard born abt 1889 and daughter, Sarah born abt 1891. Hugh and kids are found on the 1900 census living in Bristol, 4th Ward, Bucks Co. Hugh is listed as Married, but Mary is not recorded on the census.
Any info on this family would be appreciated.

Thank you for your compliment on my Fair family tree. I have been working on my family tree for over 20 years. I have spent many hours researching documents in courthouses, historical and genealogical societies, and presidential libraries.

You are correct about the Mulligan family being a nightmare. I wonder what happened to John's two sons, Peter b. 1863, William b. 1859 d. bef 1930. William never married that I am aware of. The 1900 census shows a Jennie Jollie as a granddaughter living with John and Winni and son William. I wonder which daughter married a Jollie?

I wish that I could give you more information on John and Winni. I see that you added a photo of John and Winni to your tree. The photo was given to me by a first cousin Jim Kline. Jim is the son of my grandfather's sister Winifred Fair. Winifred is the daughter of Daniel Fair and Rose Mulligan. I came in contact with Jim via his daughter who saw my family tree on ancestry. Jim also sent me photos of his mother, Winifred, whom I had never met.

By the way, you might want to check out findagrave.com when searching for your ancestors. I have added over a thousand memorials on findagrave.

Thank you so much for your quick reply.My relationship to John Mulligan is complicated. My grandfather was Mortimer M Mulligan 1877-1930 born Beaver Meadow,(parents unknown)however, he was a nephew of Sarah Mulligan Nally b1882 beaver meadows died 1929 reading pa., her son John M Nally b 1886 in Birdsboro pa.(source WWll draft regristration) Rose A Mulligan Fair, you know about.
Another daughter of John Mulligan, Kate Mulligan Mahon b 1864 in the 1901 census she is living in Beaver Meadows with her husband and father John Mulligan age 75 another daughter Margaret Mulligan Carr is listed in her sisters Sarahs obituary 1929 as living in Philadelphia I cannot find her in any census.
This family is a genelogical nightmare, unlike your very impressive Fair family tree.
I believe what brought them to Birdsboro was work in the steel mill,a lot better than coal mining. There are a number of other loose ends, in Carbon County. At the moment I am researching Townlands in Donegal,where Mulligan and Gallagher are common names.
If you can shed any more light on the Mulligan/Galagher family please let me know.

Nancy, all the information that I have on John and Winifred is on ancestry. Their daughter, Rose, married my great grandfather, Daniel. A couple of years ago, I tried to locate their graves in Beaver Meadows Catholic Cemetery; I found nothing. The Catholic Church is closed down due to the lack of membership. I have basically given up on trying to locate my great grandmother's siblings and parents. I do, however, have a photo of John and Winifred taken about 1868 on Ancestry.

My great grandfather, Daniel was from Birdsboro. I often wondered how Daniel and Rose met because she lived a long distance from Birdsboro. What year did John Mulligan live in Birdsboro?

I am trying to verify some information I have found on Ancestery web site. 1, Do you know where John and Winifred were married 2, do you know where in Donegal John came from. The 1860, 70,80 census show John and some of his family living in Banks, Beaver Meadows Carbon County as well as Bristol Bucks County and Birdsboro Pa. Do you have any other information.

Am searching for any information on my g-grandfather, Daniel Mulligan (born c. 1842), probably from Cavan, possibly from Bailieborough. He is said to have travelled by ship with his parents (Daniel Mulligan and Margaret Reilly). Oops - I actually posted the wrong date for Felix's son John. The correct birth date I had was 1 Apr 1830. I had a John Salomon Mulligan born around 1852 to Thomas Mulligan and Elizabeth Ramsey. Thomas was a son of Felix and Roseanna.

according to my papers there were two John Mulligan children, one died at age 5 and the other was born much later. The first one is listed as just John, the secnd as John Frances Solomon Mulligan

Yeah that sounds right for the documentation I have on him as well. I believe Felix and Roseanna had the following children:

Mary Ann (b. abt 1826)
Catherine (b. abt 1829)
Thomas (b. abt 1832)
Juley Ann (b. abt 1839)
Donald (b. abt 1842)
Margaret (b. abt 1845)
William (b. abt 1847)
John (b. abt 1850)

My wife is a descendant of Margaret Mulligan who married Thomas Flynn.

I have a census from 1881 that showed children by the last name of elliott 17 yr old boy and 9 year old girl living with them. The boy is listed as a lobourer. Felix also had a son by the name of John who probably was witness to the death certificates. Felix and Rosanna were members of the Loyalists in Ontario.I also show in some paperwork where he died in 1881 at the age of 81 making him born in 1800.

Good catch. You definitely would not be the only one us who added him in error to the family of Thomas and Dorothy. It seems that a good percentage of the trees on Ancestry have done the same thing.
