If you have any further information on the Munguia's from Chinandega, Nicaragua that would be very helpful. From what I know there is 't any direct connection, however my grandfather had nearly sixteen children in total. It is more than likely that one of them could have spread to El Salvador

Hello my father was from michoacan his name was Roberto Munguia not sure his fathers name his mother was Esther,he has two sisters one named Esther and other name Sara all named munguia. So yes the name munguia has also come from Michoacan,hope it helps

Hello, I'm from michoacan, too. My granpa used to tell us that his grand fathers arrived from spain into Southern Jalisco. From there, two brothers moved into Coalcoman, then children went to Tepalcatepec. So I guess we are sort of the same family. Now I know that we have Munguia relatives for sure in Coalcoman, Tepeque, la Ruana, Apatzingan and Uruapan. This thing is interesting, knoing where we come from... TNX

ha ha ha must be a munguia thing. My grandfather was just like that. My uncle manuel munguia has like 5 to 6 children everywhere too outside of marriege. Let me know because I have alot od munguia family in jalisco maybe I might be able to guide you.

I am too young to know but My mom and dad everytime I visit el asseradero, jalisco, which is close to tecalitlan, tamazula. they introduce me to relatives i didnt even know. but I do have family in el rancho del padre. Very very small town/.village. But I have to ask more info from them.

The only salvador I know I s my granpa Salvador Munguia. He is 96 years old. But Those other names dont sound familiar. So it might be the wrong salvador munguia.

Hi, My Last name is too munguia, my family is from the Zapotiltic Jalisco area. I was intriged because I have a brother and a sister with red hair. We are all light skinned and tall family. Also, colored eyes. I too Would like to know about my ancesters. My dad always kept saying that we had a past relative from spain. That their is in fact a town called munguia there.

I have a lot of lineage for the Sanchez family. Go to my family tree which is the Cotter Family Tree. I was surprised to find that we are direct descendants of the King of Spain as well as other Royalty from Europe. Please check it out.

Hello, My name is Martha Rosseett. I am looking for a man named Salvador Munguia who may have lived in Los Angeles (Maybe) California around the years 1953 to 1960. He is somehow related to a Ysaura Munguia de Rosas or a Ysaura Caritina Rosas Munguia who are related to Jesus Rosas Esquierdo who was husband to one and father to the other. The Munguias I am looking for also have relatives in Manzanilla, Colima and are related to the famous Chivas of Guadalajara Soccer player who was nicknamed "EL TUBO" who recently passed away. He had a daughter born sometime during the years 1953 to 1960 and she has one older brother and one older sister. She may or may have not been born in Los Angeles, California. Other relatives live in Guadalajara, and some names if they sound familiar are Louisa Rosas de Tovar, Jesus Rosas Munguia, Felipe Rosas Munguia, Ricardo Rosas Munguia. Hi, Maria, well, in my search for family history, I came across Luis Munguia's death certificate on www.search.org His father was listed as Apolonio Munguia and his mother as Marcella Salazar. I was shocked to find this information. I asked my brother Ray if he had heard this name before, and he had said yes. My cousin Guadalupe Rodriguez,who we call Uncle Wally, also confirmed this as well. You can see what I have found on my family tree which is under the Cotter Family Tree. I am still trying to find Apolonio Munguia's info, but so far nothing. Still searching. So maybe this will help you as well. My home number is 818-830-7199, I live in North Hills, CA, which is really north Los Angeles, California. The census and some documents were very hard to read because of the names being changed, mispelled, and some of the ages of the men being changed so that they could go to fight in the wartime. Very interesting reading and very interesting ancestry. We are direct decendents of the Kings of Spain. Our 9th Great Grandfather was Blas Maria De la Garza Falcon who has a monument in Corpus Christi. I was able to trace a lot from our great grandmother, whose maiden name was Benavides. I look forward to anything you can find and if I come across anything else, I will let you know. I have been ill with pneumonia, and haven't been too active this month, but as soon as can I will resume the search through ancestry.com. I also found out I live near a mormon library with links to the salt lake city documents. I will try there as well. I am finding out that the Munguia's we are related to are from Cameron County, Starr County,Duvall county, but not necessarily from Hidalgo county where there is a totally another branch of Munguia's. So, it does get complicated. One branch of relative from the Sanchez side that was a sister to Precilliana, Leonor Sanchez moved to Arizona, and so we have cousins in Arizona and here in Los Angeles. I have sent emails, but no replies yet. Alot of relatives unfortunately have died. Anyway, a lot of history and a lot of info. Take a look, I know I have a lot of mistakes, but it gets complicated. But, let me know what you can find. Thanks again.!!!

That he was our great grandfather?Actually your great,great grand dad?I would like more o te info you have.Ther was a document that was drawn up in 1953-54 on the Munguias that were trying to collect inhritances in Mexico that is supposed to be ecorded in Corpus at the courthouse that went up to 4or 5 generations back on My dads and yourgrandpa Pedros parents.Ilost my copy.I asked everyone who might have had a copy,but they don't.i guess sometime when I cn go spenta few days in Corpus,I'l try to geta copy.Talk to me.My number is 210-645-6237.

Hi Andrew, I haven't come across your granmother's name in doing my family tree on the Munguia or Gonzalez side, but, you never know. Who were your parent's names and were they in the Cameron County area? In doing the family tree, I am finding out that the Munguia side is not the side I thought we were from. My great grandfather was Apolonio Munguia who married Marcella Salazar. But I haven't been able to find anything past Apolonio yet. Still looking. I am a munguia that traces his ancestors to a small town in San Vicente, El Salvador, Central America. By the end of the 1800's 50 families emmigrated to this part of the world and settled in a small town they named San Sebastian in remembrance of where they came from.... San Sebastian, Spain. I visited this part of the world several years ago and i was excited to see so many business name "Munguia" this and "Munguia" that. There are ties between the Munguia's and Sanchez from the same part of the world.

The munguia's come from San Sebastian, Spain. At least 50 families emigrated in the 1800 to a town in El Salvador called San Vicente. There is a town in San Vicente called San Sebastian where my family comes from. The two last names were Munguia and Sanchez. Fair skin, color eyes, very emotional people, lots of alcoholics, infidels and violence.

No, Munguia is a Basque last name. Not French. Many of the Munguias in my family line are all large framed, hairy, blond or red hair, blue/green eyes.

Hi my name is Nelda Munguia Cotter and am doing the family tree. My Great great grandfather is Apolonio Munguia who married Marcella Salazar and migrated to Cameron county Texas around 1890. He was born in 1854 and Marcella was born around 1868. I did find Marcella Salazar's tree, her dad was Vicented Salazar, but I cannot find anything as death certificate or any info on Apolonio. Hello Anita, This is your cousin, Nelda Munguia Cotter. My dad was Ramiro's brother, Pete Sanchez Munguia. I have a picture of us when we were about 3 or 4 years old. I would love to know more about our heritage. Andres was our dad's uncle that lived on a ranch near Benavides, Texas. We use to visit quite a lot when we were small. His wife of Miguelita and had a son, Calixto and a daughter, Francisca. Looking forward to be in touch with you.

Yes, Gabriel and his sole brother Ramon were brothers. I have a real estate document from the Web site- Hidalgo County real property official records, key the name of James H.Edwards whom our ancesters sold the property too. The document under Edwards dated 02-25-1905 with file date of 03-18-1905 will give you info. Once you get to the Web site you go on free search and then delete the 1977 date on it so it can give you documents that were processed before 1977. Key the name James Edwards and it will give a lot of information and the siblings selling the property. The document states they were brothers. Ramon had several children named Pedro, Narcisa, Enidato, Leonardo and Luis. Another property named La Lomita can be found under the name of Jacob T. Ginzo dated 1857. This is an amazing document also. Good Luck and write back if you need help. My great grandfather was Miguel Zamora and had a sister name Santos whom Pedro Munguia raised with his wife Maria Reyes Munguia.They inherited property from Pedro, son of Ramon.
