Hi Bud

My name is Kara. My father was adopted to the Balog family and is originally a Murton. The family was reunited back in the 80's and I haven't heard much since then. My father lost contact. The only history I know is that the family name was Murton there were 13 or so children that were adopted out. I know of Gerry Weiss, Mary Danello and someone I remember as Aunt Boots. I also heard my grandfather was a brick layer and roofer. And perhaps my great grandfather had married a Cherokee Indian woman. Im wondering if any of this sounds familiar. Let me know thanks

Thomas Murton

I am looking for information about my gr grandfather Thomas Murton, his marriage certificate in 1899 to Louisa Elizabeth Berry (Dover, Kent) shows he was born circa 1873. They lived all their married lives in Colebran St., Dover Kent and had 10 children. While his marriage certificate shows his father was Henry Murton, I have been unable to find a birth record for Thomas or Henry. My father recalls Henry was in the Navy. If anyone knows anything about him or his family I would really love to hear from them. Thankyou

Hello Helen,
Have just picked up your message which I realise was posted a long time ago, but as I have only just begun work on my Family Tree, it has only just come to my attention. It appears that we probably share a Grandfather, although I myself never had the priviledge of knowing him. My maternal Grandfather Clement John Murton was born in 1893 at Besthorpe, Attleborough, Norfolk and married my maternal Grandmother Bridget Cahill in 1919. If this is still of interest to you, I should be delighted to provide whatever further information I can which may be of assistance.
Kindest regards, Alan Miller in Tunbridge Wells : Tel. 01892 615986 or 07711 802159.

Hello Jackie

How exciting to hear from you. I am related to the Cudby family through my mother's side. Unfortunately she did not tell me very much about their history and sadly died before I became interested in tracing my family tree. I have very few photographs and would love to have copies of anything you think relevant. Please e-mail me at jillyflower47@hotmail.com and we can exchange addresses and more information.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Jill

Jane Murton was my grandfather, Percy Cudby's mother. Jane was born in Stoke by Clare, Suffolk in about 1847 and married William Cudby of Hundon, Suffolk. They had at least ten children, most of them while living in Stratford, Essex. In 1901 Jane and William were inmates of the West Ham Union Work House. If anyone has any more information on this branch of the Cudby family I would love to hear from you.

Thank you for reply. Have visited your extremely informative website. Unfortunately I am stuck on Charles (Murton) b. 1780 (abt).
The Norfolk family seems to be separate one from the Suffolk branch where I am looking. The Plymouth connection may be of interest though, as I havetraced some to Cornwal..
WAlter Murton (South Africa).

The Murton's you mention don't 'spring to mind', but I do have quite a bit of Murton info on my website -

http://homepages.tesco.net/paul.murton/

Your Murton's are in the right area, and at the right time to be related to my GG Grandfather Zephaniah Murton, but I can't find any details of his parents or siblings.

Paul

I am trying to trace a Walter Murton who is proving to be a bit of a mystery. My family do not know too much about him other than he was from the Kent or Sussex area. We think it was more than likely Sussex. He married a Sophia East in 1893 in Marylebone, London. They had 5 children
Walter, Winifred, Sidney, Lucy and George.

Are they connected to your tree. Any info would be appreciated

Look forward to hearing from you
Dear Paul

In my researches I have a Sarah Murton who married Robert Place - her parents are down as Charles and Lettice Murton. I do not have the date of the marriage but their daughter Amelia born 6 May 1819, Weeting Norfolk.

In the 1851 census Robert and Sarah have retired from Wangford and are living in Lakenheath, Suffolk. Sarah's age is 62 born Barningham/Banningham. Not sure of my own writing. Can you help with any information regarding Charles and his wife?

Many thanks

My ancestors are the Pope's of Pope Mills NY. One of the Pope's married a Lucretia Pope, daughter of H. & Lydia Murton. Check the cemetary records of St lawrance county and you can find these family names. I've never done this before, but I found out so much in 10 minutes. Maybe we're related.

Hello! My Grandfather was Arthur L Murton who was the Brother of Edward. They also had a Brother Kenneth. There were 4 Brothers total, the last who's name escapes me at this moment. I wasn't aware of the McPherson connection till I read the emails I received tonight. I spoke with my Mom tonight and she is gathering (from memory) all the info she could find on Edward. She is in the hospital at the moment so this could take a few days. I hope you will be patient. I will get back to you as soon as possible...till then...

Be safe..be happy!

Sorry about the last message Bill. I think I may have confused you. I was thinking about my great great grandfather Edward Luce and you were probably talking about my great great great grandfather Edward Murton. I don't know anything about him. My grandmother was Emma Krontz Mac(Mc Pherson). She was the daughter of Ella Murton and John Krontz. Ella was the daughter of William and Emily (Ward) Murton. William was the son of Edward and I have no idea when or where Edward was born. Sorry for the confusion.
