Natalie Naples-LaGuardia - Youngstown, Ohio 1919-2012

YOUNGSTOWN – Natalie Naples-LaGuardia, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at Humility House in Austintown, Ohio.

She was born on Christmas Day of 1919, in Brier Hill in Youngstown, OH.
She was the last child born to Louis and Bridget (Berardi) Naples.

She was a graduate of The Rayen School.

Natalie married her late husband, Sam LaGuardia on Nov. 17, 1958, and he passed away June 15, 1995.

She had worked at Liberty Mfg. and the Ravenna Arsenal.

Natalie was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church most of her life.

She loved playing the piano, playing by ear, never having a lesson. She could hear someone hum a few notes, then play it. Natalie was definitely “gifted.” She especially loved cooking for all her family and friends. “Aunt Natalie’s” pizza and chocolate chip cookies were her most requested.

She loved playing cards and taking trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy and Connie; brothers , Dominic, Louis, James, Ernie, Carl and Guy; sister-in-law, Madelyn; and parents.

She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Ona Naples and all her nieces, nephews and friends.

Calling hours will be at the Schiavone Funeral Home, 1842 Belmont Ave. in Youngstown, OH on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to St. Anthony Church, Humility House, or Hospice of the Valley in Natalie’s name.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff who took such great care of her at Humility House and Hospice of the Valley.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Ann M. Nackino peacefully left us on June 15, 2009, and went to join her beloved husband of 54 years, Paul.

She was born Nov. 30, 1920 to Angeline and Ottoviano Naples in Youngstown, Ohio. (Mahoning County)

Married in 1941, Ann and Paul later settled in the west. After Paul passed in 1995, Ann moved to Florida to be with her children, son, Paul (Ann); daughter, Bonnie (Doug); son, Marc; and granddaughter, Chelsea.

A faithful member of St. Mathews Catholic Church, Ann shared her lovely voice in the choir, and her caring nature with everyone she met.

Ann’s life was one of love, faith, friendship, and wonderful story experiences. She was a “One of a Kind Classy Lady” and will be heartfelt missed by her extended family and many loving friends.

Visitation is Friday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Father Luke of St. Mathews will conduct the memorial service, Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m.
All services will be at the Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.

VIENNA, Ohio – A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church for Joseph D. Naples, 80, who died at his residence on Friday morning after an extended illness.

Joseph was born Oct. 29, 1930, and would have been 81 years old today, a son of Michael and Victoria Buccoli Naples.
He was born in Brier Hill Section of Youngstown, Ohio and a lifelong area resident.

“Nate” worked for the city of Youngstown in the Police Department for 30 years, retiring in 1987.

Nate was a member of the church, F.O.P. No. 28, D.A.V., Army Navy Garrison 360, U.S. Army Veterans of Fort Bragg, and V.F.V. in Vienna.
He was a January 1950 graduate of The Rayen School and a Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Wellman, whom he married Jan. 24, 1953; five sons, Joseph (Cathy) Naples of Liberty, Ohio, Michael (Kathe) Naples of Tully, N.Y., George (Robin) Naples of Canfield, Ohio, Larry (Jacque) Naples of Farrell, Pa. and Dan Naples of Vienna, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Jacci (Jeffey) Klein, Abbey Naples, Michael Naples, Kelly (Marek) Radomski, Daniel Naples Jr. and George Naples, Andrew (Daniell) Naples and Ginny (Nathen) Porter; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Radomski and Connor Klein; and a brother, Frank (Dolly) Naples of Youngstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Sandy, Dominic, Rocco, Larry, Anthony and Jimmy Naples; and two sisters, Teresa Menelle and Madeline Urban.

Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Schiavone Funeral Home.

Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio.

Helen Naples of Carverton Road, Wyoming died Tuesday morning December 13, 1988 in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born and reared in Wyoming she was the daughter of Josephine Podgorski-Heist of Dallas.

She attended the Wyoming public schools and was last employed at Master Craft Furniture Company for many years.

Surviving are her husband Samuel Joseph Naples Sr., at home; sons, Samuel J. Jr., Centermoreland and David, Pittston; 5 grandchildren; sisters Mrs. George (margaret) Nemick of Meshoppen, Mrs. Mildred Donovan of Wilkes-Barre, Mrs. Elizabeth Douglas of Flordia; brother, William of West Wyoming.

Funeral Services will be Thursday at 8:30 from Adonizio Funeral Home Inc., 251 William Street, Pittston; with the Rev. Robert Sauers officiating.

There will be no calling hours.

Samuel M. Naples,66, of Norristown died Monday at home.

He was born October 22, 1934 in Exeter, and was the son of the late Charles and Angela Mazzarella Naples.

He graduated from Exeter high School and the University of Scranton with a degree in Economics.

Mr. Naples owned and operated Bakery De Napoli, Norristown and was a member of Saint Titus Church.

Surviving are his wife of 12 years Carolyn H. Norristown; sons, Charles J. and Samuel M. Jr; daughters Lisa Kanta, Pottstown and Martha Nadwodny, Limerick; 8 grandchildren; brother Charles, Schwenksville; sister Evelyn and Joanne, Exeter.

Funeral will be held friday at Saint Titus Church. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday 7 to 9 and Friday 8:15 to 9:15 at the Boyd Horrox Funeral Home, 200 West Germantown Pk, East Norriston. Contribution may be made to the American Heart Assoc.

Looking for any connection with ELIZABETH NAPLES b. 28 Jun 1837 in Edinburgh. Father, Thomas Naples (also spelt Napples) & mother, Helen cummings Naples. Brothers & sisters = Jessie, Charles, James x 2, Thomas. Have birth dates for all children and parents' marriage date, but no other info, or knowledge of surname origin. Is there an Italian connection?

I am looking for my Father's family. I was born April 8, 1954 to William and Lora Naples. I think he was called Billy. They divorced and I was adopted by my Mother's husband when I was a teenager. William died in 1962. I would love to know if I have siblings on my father's side. I have lots of baby pictures and hope someone could help me identify family members. Thank you very much!
