So interested to receive your note about your connection to JJ Napoleon. I live in Christchurch, NZ, and my mother was one of his many grandchildren. I have, thanks to Ancestry, discovered relatives in the North of England one of whom I keep in regular contact. I have seen where JJ and his large family lived in Preston and met many distant cousins. I have been told about Ryan Napoleon who swims for Australia so no doubt he is a close relative of yours? It seems that one of my mothers uncles was a great swimmer and taught everyone in Preston to swim!! Look forward to hearing from you when you get a moment. regards Sue

Elizabeth Nuuanu Napoleon Rodrigues

I am searching for information regarding my great-grandmother, Elizabeth Nuuanu Napoleon Rodrigues. According to her death certificate she was born on Maui(Wailuku)and her maiden name is listed as Napoleon. She was married to Simon Rodrigues (whose family lived in Kalihi Valley, Oahu). According to my grandmother she had eight children with Simon; Theodore, Frank, Christopher, Bertram, Augustine, Eddie, Christina, and Margaret. My grandmother is Christina. Elizabeth and Simon also had hanai children, Walter Pua and Virginia Kalama. When I was 12 years-old my grandmother told me a story about her mother but no one in my family can actually say if it was true or not. It seems that my grandmother believed her mother was not born on Maui but in Tahiti and she may have been hanai by a family on Maui. No one can be sure if her hanai name is Napoleon or Kaahu. On my grandmother's marriage certificate she has listed her mother's maiden name listed as Elizabeth Kaahu. I have searched on Maui and Oahu for a possible marriage certificate for Simon and Elizabeth Rodrigues but to no avail. I will write a similar message under K for Kaahu in case someone may have information of my great-grandmother under that name. If anyone has information regarding my great-grandmother, I would appreciate your help. Mahalo.

Napoleons Born in Ireland early 19th Century

I am trying to trace my great grandfather's birth and birthplace. I know that he was born somewhere in Ireland (can't find any traces) in about 1839 and moved to England in the late 1870's where he married a Sarah Parker. He died in Lancashire, England, in 1901. He described himself as a horse breaker on his marriage cert. I imagine that he came from a large family and I know that many Napoleons migrated to Chicago from the 1870's to the 1920's so I am just hoping that an American contact may know of a link through their family to him.

Please contact me at lichfield.hold@xtra.co.nz if you think you have any info that may help me.

Louis Napoleon family

I am looking for more information on Louis Napoleon and his family. According to census records he was born about 1857 in WA and died before the 1930 census probably in Kitsap Co, WA. He was married to a Mary b. 1856 in WA in the 1880 census and had a daughter Mary and a son Henry. The next time I find him in a census is the 1910 Kitsap Co. with wife Susie and a bunch more children including another Mary. His first wife Mary must have died before 1890 and Susie (Susan) may have died 23 Aug 1947. I have not found any cemetery record for any of the Napoleons to confirm that there were two wives or one going by two names. Any help would be great.

I am at a loss for the connection right now.although my ggrandfather Adron Rolland's father was Louis Boneparte Rolland whose father was (supposedly Louis Napoleon Bonepart? )Story has it they changed the name. I have a letter that Louis received a letter from lawyers from NY about palaces and inheritance and refused to acknowledge "those people" over there. He said he didn't want to know anymore about them and wanted nothing to do with them. My Louis was b. abt 1851 and d. 1924. I would like to find out something about his family.
I thought maybe if you could share some of your information , it may give me a lead to what I am looking for.
Hello again! I got my Mom to send you some info. She could probably copy pages from her family history book for you. It may be nice to have that at your family reunion. Apparently, Napoleon was very well liked according to my Mom. One thing she told me that she didn't write to you, was that after Elizabeth died (Betty) the family planted an apple tree and it was always referred to as "The Betty tree". Isaac WAS my GGG Grandfather and his son John was great lifelong friends with one of Napoleon's sons. I am anxious to read more on him the next time I am at my parents house. We do have some photos of John. It would be interesting to see if there are any pictures of Napoleon and his family. I read some of your other Posts and noticed that you mentioned some of your family members being fair skinned. Maybe WE actually are blood relatives! I hope all of this is helpful to you in your search for family history, and would be happy to help you in any way I can. Sincerely, Stephanie Coughlin

My GG Grandfather was friends with Napoleon's brother Milt, your GG Grandfather or G Grandfather. I thought he was lifelong friends with one of his sons, but it was his brother. The picture that we have of John Garrett is a portrait of he and his wife. His Moustache is longer on one side.. Very strange.. He was a little man, but his wife looked to be a big woman, and not very attractive. She looked mean in the picture, but maybe that's because back then they never smiled in photographs. My Mom was really excited about the Garrett picture that you have. I asked her if we had any pictures of Napoleon or anyone in his family, but she doesn't think that we do. You certainly were right about the connection between our families being very interesting. I will definitely copy the pages and mail them to you as soon as I can. My Mom called her sister in Ohio and she is very excited about my internet findings and is going to see if she has anything else. She is very good at finding out about family history. When my Mom told her about you, my Aunt said she got chills up her spine. She loves to find someone new with new information! Thanks for writing back!!
Sincerely, Stephanie (I love your initials, by the way!! MVP= most valuable player)

I have recently been attempting to search out info on both sides of our families for our
Children.
Any info you could email would be great. I have limited family members to contact.
I know that Frank Napoleon was supposedly born in Corsica, Italy. His father died and
his mother went into a convent. Frank was sent to America to live with an Uncle. The
Uncle was supposed to send him to school but put him to work instead. I believe he was
in Oklahoma, then Tx. He married an English woman by the name of Eddie. They had 13 children.
I am missing a few names but here is what I have: Frank, Gene, Joe, Mary, Sidney, Margaret, Rita,
Bridgette, Theresa, Michael (used his middle name (Richard). I hope this helps someone else.

Father in question would by Louis - Napoleon III. The son Joseph was born in 1838. Would immigrate to Tiffin, Seneca Co., Ohio with the GUILLAUME family in 1853. Old letters from other family decendants describe visits from 'Uncle Napoleon'.

Do know that Louis spent some time in Tiffin prior to 1853, and before he took power.

Anyone who could help me determine if this is all a line of bull or not would be deeply appreciated.
Family lore has it that my gr-gr-grandfather, Joseph Gillaum (Guillaume), was a recognized illigitimate child of one of the Napoleon's. Not exactly sure which one. Supposedly he was born in France, then was sent to live with a family in Belgium. Came to the U.S. when he was 17. Could speak 7 languages. Married a woman from VA, and settled in Tiffin, OH. Have further info on his children, born about 1870's.

Would appreciate any help of reference to learn if this is just a "story" or fact.

Thanks,
Carolyn
Pookiecat40@hotmail.com

Robert, Margaret and Charles, all of whom are now deceased. Milt Perkins was my great grandfather. His family grew up in Weston, W. Va. My father Emmett, had 9 living children. We migrated to Youngstown, Ohio about 1953. I hear great grandpa was quite a character! Oh great Uncles Ross, and Bill also lived in Weston (can't remember an uncle Gus, but my brother is checking this out. You have cousins in Maryland and Cleveland, oh. I live in California. Some of my brothers had ancesteral names, i.e. Charles Milton.
I have the same info as the Garret person.
Hi Stephine,

Sorry, I have not E-mailed in a few months but started a new job. I'm still finding interesting things about our family. I have been in touch with Patsy and hopeful I can meet her and her husband this spring. The weather has been bad. She lives only 40 miles a way. (Small World) As I search I find out that my Grandmother was a pretty white woman (Annie) from WV who came to Ohio around 1906-1910. According to the 1910 Census my grandfather and his wife and 3 sons (One was my father)stop in or lived in Akron, Ohio which is 35 miles from the Wooster, Ohio area where my father grew up. I do not know when she died but my father said that he was 7-10 years old when she pasted.
I'm checking all leads and this spring I will be giong to WV to continue my search. I'm glad you gave me some valuable leads and I look forward to meeting Patsy.

Stay in touch!
MVP
My mother is the 7th child of the thirteen children belonging to "Frank Napoleon".

What is your relationship? Would love to correspond with you and tell you anything I know. My address is gfavela@swbell.net

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regina

Hi Phyllis,

I am your cousin, Regina. Your Aunt Theresa's sixth child. I, too have long been intrested in learning more about Granddaddy Napoleon and the Piro side of the family. I wonder if in searching we should use his given name, Frances Incarnito Napoleon which would have been the named he entered into the U.S. with?

I look forward to any correspondence with you. If I have any luck in my search I will let you know and invite you to do the same.

With kind regards
Your cousin,
Regina
