My email address is Stabia@comcast.net. Send me an email with your direct ancestors and I will see where we are related.
This was posted so long ago, hope to hear back. My name is Joseph Caldarone, my great-grandmother was Maria Fierro (Caldarone), from Montella Italy. My father was born in Montella and we still have cousins that bear the Fierro name that we know well that still live there. He is also cousins with Aurelio Fierro the famous Italian singer who passed away a fews years back. I wonder if there is any connection - Montella as you probably know is super small.

My greatgrandmother was Giuseppa Maria Napoliello. She was born in Calabritto, Avellino. She was first married to Alfonso Cordasco from Teora and then to Generoso Ilaria from Calabritto. When her son Raffaele Ilaria came to the US in 1914 he went to Prospect Ave in Newark. He was a tailor and I am told we had NJ relatives, though I do not know their names. Giuseppa came to the US sometime between 1914 and 1921 and her parents were Alfonso and Rosina Giallanella. Do you know anything of this? Thanks, Donna.

My connection to the Fierro family is that my maternal grandmothers family(Savino) lived in Montella. My grandmother(virginia) was the youngest of seven children - her sister clalia married a Fierro. Her son Salvatore lived in Montella and was the caretaker of San Salvatore on the mountain. One of her sisters and brother in law dontated the alter in the shrine. The other sisters were at the Lady of Pompeii Orphanage in Pompeii. Two of them were Sisters of St. Domini c - these sisters died in the 1980's. There was also a brother that was a priest, or bishop, his name was Joseph. Another brother Michael, moved to the USA and
raised a family in the Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn. That is also where my grandmother lived and raised her family.
I hope this can help you. To the best of my knowledge, there are many Fierros living in New Jersey and Montella
Good Luck

Hi,
My maternal grandmother came from Montella, Italy, her name was Virginia Savino Cecere. Her sister Clara, married a Fierro, in Montella. I believe a large portion of the family is still there. Clara had a son Salvatore that is still living there. They live very close to Santissimo Salvatore which is on the mountain.

Pat
